(Week 6) Chosen & Online Study “Roll-call”

“You are a chosen [woman], a royal priesthood, a holy [daughter], a [woman] belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of HIM who has called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9, NIV

Please print and post your word and verse for the week. Continue reading chapter 6 and asswer questions 1-3 at the end of the chapter. We’ll chat about them here soon.

Ya’ll make my heart smile so big!! {And just in case you wanted to know – I’m 45, live in North Carolina and in my spare time (which I rarely have), I love to watch a movie with my family, read a good book or be outside soaking up the beauty of God’s creation.} I wish I loved to cook and be crafty like so many of you!!

  5. What spoke to me in chapter 6.

    If we put our trust in Christ as our savior, we can stand on the promises of wo we are in him-chosen, holy, and dearly loved.
    Doubting god’s promises makes it hard to trust god’s heart. We need to recognize satan’s lies, refute his temptations, and rely on god’s word instead.
    Trying to get our good enough outside of god’s promises and provision will always create insecurity and obstruct our relationship with him and with other people
    We are all wrecked up but we are loved with reckless abandon by the king of glory. We may be rejected by man, but we are accepted and adored by our maker. We may be betrayed and cast aside, but we are chosen and redeemed by our heavenly father.
    Start every day relying on god’s power and living in the security of his promises. It won’t just happen because it’s possible; you have to take action.

    Loved the music video Renee. What A great message. Also enjoyed reading chapter 6.

    2.I felt rejected by my husband a few years ago when I was ready to be a mom and he wasn’t and I had to wait. I felt hurt because it did lie he didn’t value my feelings.
    4. Satan tempted Jesus to get his needs met apart from god’s provision. He tempted eve by saying she was missing out on knowing who god was by not eating from the tree of knowledge and evil.
    5. Jesus responded to satan’s lies with god’s word, eve responded to satan’s lies by believing Satan and falling into temptation.
    6. I do recognize that Satan wants to intimidate and defeat me. I will prepare myself by meditating on god’s word and putting on the armor of god daily.
    7. Against me thought: I am not a good mom because I get overwhelmed with guilt and frustration over having to say no and not being able to hold her all the time because she is in an attachment phase to mommy right now. For me thought: I am loved, accepted, and chosen by god.

  7. I’m 37 years old, I live in Nebraska and I love to read and go for random drives in the country, looking for wildlife.

  8. God willing…I will be 60 years old in August.
    In the year 2000 the Lord led my husband & I from the fast-pace city life of Chicago, IL to a small town 2 1/2 hours south in central Illinois (Fisher, IL). We’ve been now living in yet a smaller town (450 people)
    in a town called Bondville, IL. It’s about 9 miles east of Champaign, IL.
    In my spare time, I just love enjoying the peace and quiet all around me and I can now see God’s Glory in the sky as He makes a new design each and every day and then at night, I just love looking up at all the beautiful stars or watch the sun go down…I am in awe of His love, His peace, and His mercy which are new each and every day.
    Thank you Renee for this powerful study. I know that God is very well pleased with you.

  9. I live in Orlando FL. I am 48. Not sure what spare time is but working on making that happen. When I do I like to read, garden & cook.

  10. I live near Bigelow, MN, am 52 years old, and love to read, knit, sew, bake, watch movies, garden, and spend time with my family (hubby and 6 kids).

    • Mary, is the love of cleaning one’s house something that can be learned?? If so, I need some instruction. 🙂

    I love to scrapbook, play around with photography, read, study God’s word, go to trhe beach.

    3. I love to go to the beach, ski, run, bike, read, bake, work in my yard/garden, and be with friends.

  14. I am 42. I live in Minnesota but from Michigan. I have a couple special needs kids so free time is incredibly limited for me. I recently have had the opportunity to join a fitness club and enjoy exercising in my free time.

    3. We have seasons here so my spare time interests are seasonal too! In summer and fall I would love to be outside from morning to night if I could, gardening, riding bike kayaking going to the beach whatever as long as its outside! Winter and spring however I do more reading, scrap booking and I love road trips with the family!
