Ya’ll make my heart smile so big!! {And just in case you wanted to know – I’m 45, live in North Carolina and in my spare time (which I rarely have), I love to watch a movie with my family, read a good book or be outside soaking up the beauty of God’s creation.} I wish I loved to cook and be crafty like so many of you!!

    I live in Middletown RI
    I am a mother of two super active toddler boys, so I have no free time right now. In fact, what is free time? I don’t remember it if i ever had it, which is a good thing because it would probably make me long for it too much if i remembered. But if I did have free time, I would go to the beach with a book, or wander aimlessly through a store all by myself without someone pulling on my arm saying are we going yet? I might even try on an outfit that wasn’t yoga or lounge pants. (though shopping may not really be a hobby but its a nice idea…) but reading for fun, wasting away the hours on an adventure, they are just not in the cards for me. In fact I’m even writing this one handed cradling one of my little men who is up with the croup, giving me a chance to check up on email while I hold him upright so he can sleep better.

    I am 57 years old and currently live in the Arab country of Qatar. About two weeks after this study is over my husband and I will be moving back to our home in Calico Rock, Arkansas after living in the Middle East for seven years.

    In my spare time I like to read, work in my yard when I am “home”, and spend time with my family.

    I want to add a prayer request: My sister in law, Toni, has cancer. Please pray for healing. I am claiming that if we believe we receive our requests made to God. Thanks.

      Praying for the Lord’s infinite healing powers to cure your sister in law. Fr peace for her family as they support her through this difficult time. And wisdom for the doctors that are treating her. James 5:15 – “And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

    I am 39 years old.
    I live in ROCK HILL SC
    I am a wife and mama of two with one on the way via adoption, full time student, I enjoy cooking, encouraginf others, reading, dancing, learning something new everyday and writing! Spare time not sure what that is at the moment especially since I am trying to play catch up with this as well.:)

  7. I am from Cleveland, MS, and I am 54 years old for a just a little bit longer. Whenever I have a little time and I do try to make it a point to find that time, I like to “play” outside. I love to be outside raking leaves, pulling weeds, sitting in my swing reading my Bible or working on a Bible Study. My co-workers don’t think that is “playing”, but it’s what I consider my “play time”. I also spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking/making desserts and other things to share.

    1.) I live in Loma, Colorado originally from Farmington New Mexico
    2.) I am 52
    3.) I make natural goat milk soaps, jewelry designer, miniature OOAK babies and I am a decorative painter. Love to DIY rooms in my home with faux finishes and paint. In my spare time I raise dairy goats, llamas, read, study Iridology and herbal healing, attend Bible study and Church. I am currently experimenting with baking gluten free foods since my husband has been diagnosed Celiac. I am also working on a new web site for my designs. God is good!   10. Hi, Blessings! I live in Florida, I’m 32 years old and in my free time I love to read, read, and read. I also love scrapbooking but with 3 kids it’s a bit difficult for me. So blessed to be taking this study. Thank you so much for the difference you are making in our lives.

  15. I live in NE Georgia currently- home port for me is Tampa,Fl though. I am 28 and in my spare time, well actually vacation time, i love to go back to Fl and spend time on the beach with friends! Nothing like a gulf coast sunset 🙂

  19. I live in the great state of Texas. I am 51 years old. I absolutely love to read. I love to read so much that about 4 years ago, I looked at my Bible and thought, this is crazy, I have tried over and over again to read this cover to cover. I do not have that problem with any other book, and this is the most important book I own, therefore, I made the decision that I would read no other book until I had finished the Bible. So I picked it up and read my NLT Bible cover to cover in 89 days. Thinking it is about time to do that again.

    I am 53 years young. I work full-time but my life’s love’s is time with my family in Christ, my daughters and their growing familes and growing in learning to follow God’s plans for me.

    In my free time, I like to go on dates with the Carpenter to the park. Sometimes, we will just sit and talk. Sometimes, He will meditate with me on His wonderful book He wrote. And sometimes, we just hug each other and let each know how much we love each other.

  25. I live in Winter Garden, Florida, I’m 42 and I love creating thinking and innovating in any way.

    I haven’t been able to keep up with the study and I’m so disappointed–I’m working on three studies at the moment:

    James McDonald’s Downpour–a study on revival–we just finished the section on “Myself in the dirt–a picture of repentance”

    In Christ’s Image Training through Francis Frangipane’s ministry–We’re in a module on humility at the moment

    I also just started the 12 step study through Celebrate Recovery–I’m not quite sure what I’m recovering from, but we’re almost through with denial and moving into powerlessness.

    Are sensing a theme here? I sure am. I’ve been gradually moving toward understanding that I have nothing of value to give and that I am powerless to even obey the simplest of HIs commands, no matter how much I want to. I can look like a good girl, but inside there is nothing good in me without His transformation. I’m slowly learning how to have confidence and trust in my Father and His ability to care for me and make me someone new that is conformed to His image. I’m not done–I still have so much to learn. I rely on myself far too much, still.

    I’ll try to catch up, but it may take some time.

    I’m 37, live in the beautiful Pacific NW in Tacoma, WA, and in my free time I LOVE to be with my 6 nieces and nephews, read, and….snuggle with/pet my two kitties. Although I am NOT the crazy cat lady!! Oh, and since buying my first house a couple years ago, I like to think that I’m a gardener as well. 🙂

  31. I live in North Carolina, and am 40 something! I love reading, doing word game puzzles, Facebook games, and listening to music. I have gone back to school so that takes a lot of my free time, but I love spending what free time I do have with my family.

  33. I am originally from New Orleans, LA. Currently living in Johnson City, TN. I am 42 years old.
    I don’t have much free time between going to college, homeschooling, writing Bible study lessons for church, and of course all that goes with being a mom. I would enjoy being able to play my guitar and gardening.

  35. I’m really enjoying Confident Woman. I’ve got behind many times due to my husbands’ illness but it has helped me get through these trying days. I came from an abused home before I met my husband and he tries to make me feel better and it helps but what has really helped is this series on Confident Woman. Gods’ word is so powerful and is bringing healing to me. I’m 61 yrs. old and I enjoy playing Rummikub with my husband and friends in my spare time.

  39. Renee says, “No one will ever want you. You’ll never be good enough.” At 16 while pregnant my boyfriend dumping me said to me out of real concern. “But, who will ever want you?” Luckily, I was already a Christian (just) and looking back years later I realized it was the Holy Spirit in me who was my confidence through those times. God gave me the strength and wisdom to just move on and not try to hang on.

    “Recovering from the heartbreak of being unwanted and rejected, I began to find my identity and value of who I was in Christ.” I love that. I can so relate to that. That is the difference in why we seem so confident when we really know ourselves well and all we struggle with along with all of our fears. Our confidence, while not perfect, is found in who HE says we are. That is so very different than the world’s confidence. We look strong to them who find their confidence in this ole world’s wisdom.

    I love this. “The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your behavior will begin to reflect your true identity!” SO TRUE…………….

    I love this sentence, “As I heard these words, my thoughts were aligned with God’s truth. It changed my whole perspective.” SOOOOO incredibly true. What we look at, what we focus on, what we listen to is PARAMOUNT!

  45. What spoke to me in chapter 6.

    If we put our trust in Christ as our savior, we can stand on the promises of wo we are in him-chosen, holy, and dearly loved.
    Doubting god’s promises makes it hard to trust god’s heart. We need to recognize satan’s lies, refute his temptations, and rely on god’s word instead.
    Trying to get our good enough outside of god’s promises and provision will always create insecurity and obstruct our relationship with him and with other people
    We are all wrecked up but we are loved with reckless abandon by the king of glory. We may be rejected by man, but we are accepted and adored by our maker. We may be betrayed and cast aside, but we are chosen and redeemed by our heavenly father.
    Start every day relying on god’s power and living in the security of his promises. It won’t just happen because it’s possible; you have to take action.

    2.I felt rejected by my husband a few years ago when I was ready to be a mom and he wasn’t and I had to wait. I felt hurt because it did lie he didn’t value my feelings.
    4. Satan tempted Jesus to get his needs met apart from god’s provision. He tempted eve by saying she was missing out on knowing who god was by not eating from the tree of knowledge and evil.
    5. Jesus responded to satan’s lies with god’s word, eve responded to satan’s lies by believing Satan and falling into temptation.
    6. I do recognize that Satan wants to intimidate and defeat me. I will prepare myself by meditating on god’s word and putting on the armor of god daily.
    7. Against me thought: I am not a good mom because I get overwhelmed with guilt and frustration over having to say no and not being able to hold her all the time because she is in an attachment phase to mommy right now. For me thought: I am loved, accepted, and chosen by god.

  47. I’m 37 years old, I live in Nebraska and I love to read and go for random drives in the country, looking for wildlife.

  48. God willing…I will be 60 years old in August.
    In the year 2000 the Lord led my husband & I from the fast-pace city life of Chicago, IL to a small town 2 1/2 hours south in central Illinois (Fisher, IL). We’ve been now living in yet a smaller town (450 people)
    in a town called Bondville, IL. It’s about 9 miles east of Champaign, IL.
    In my spare time, I just love enjoying the peace and quiet all around me and I can now see God’s Glory in the sky as He makes a new design each and every day and then at night, I just love looking up at all the beautiful stars or watch the sun go down…I am in awe of His love, His peace, and His mercy which are new each and every day.
