So lovely to meet all of you ladies, trusting God as we battle our own demons of self-doubt etc.
I find it interesting that so many of us are in our 40-50’s. Makes me wonder what changed in the world
during the 60-70’s for so many of us to suffer from so much self-doubt.
Or was it our parents generation that changed things (maybe World War 2 had something to do with it). Would be interesting to see if many men from these generations suffer as well.
I know my husband suffers severely with low self-esteem, but he won’t admit it..
Believing for breakthrough for each and everyone of us as we go through this journey together. 🙂
Gwenda, I, too, have noticed a trend of 40’s to 50’s. I think that the “me” generation of our parents, and the “if it feels good, do it” message, and the further fracturing of the family all play into this. My husband and I are 7 years apart and our parents are 17 years apart, so his parents are WW2/depression era while my parents are former pseudo hippies. There is a HUGE difference in the thinking of our parents: one set very success and family oriented, though not necessarily emotionally connected; and the other very self-centered, independent, self-fulfillment oriented. The 60s and 70s were a destructive couple of decades!
Another thing I have read recently suggests that in our 20s and 30s, we have youth and strength on our side, so we are better able to keep it together and fight our own battles to a degree. As we get older, and as women, have hormonal changes, it is not so easy to function without God’s daily, intimate help. I am thankful for that right now as it is forcing me to deal with some things that I have kept boxed up in the recess of my mind, but have kept me captive to some degree for decades.
I am looking forward to what God has for all of us! He is the Great Physician, and the Healer!

Hi Debby i noticed you said you were from Cajun Country im from Nova Scotia Canada and was just wondering if you were aware that the Cajuns were Acadians who lived in Nova scotia and when the deportation happened , the english burned the Acadians homes and destroyed everythiing and sent them on boats without there husbands most times, and alot of them ended up Louisiana and became Cajuns:)
