Hello Joyce…I cared for my mom for 3 years…she was such a sweetheart and I still miss her since she’s been gone for 5 1/2 years. I’ll pray for you during this journey. Find time for yourself! I know it’s hard to do that but you need time for you, even if you can find someone to come into your home for a few hours. We had caregivers (a local support group) who came into our home for a few hours a day. I could leave my mom alone while we went to work, but I had to have someone come in and check her blood sugar for insulin, and warm up a meal for lunch. In the winter my husband was often home (as he’s self employed) and during the summer and holidays I was always with her (as I teach). God is good…rely on him and his grace! Prayerfully Carol
