Just answer these 3 simple questions: Where are you from (state or country), what is your age, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I’ll go first: I’m 45 and live in North Carolina. In my free time (which I wish I had more of) I love to sit in my backyard and relax or play games with my family. I also love to watch a movie with my husband or as a family, or read a good book.

My name is Heather, I’m 43 and from Alberta, Canada. I love to talk about God and talk about service to him, about all the ways we can go about serving him and our Lord Jesus and showing his love in action, and about what he’s done/doing in my life and the life of others, with people who are enthusiatic about God and responsive to him. And I’m dreaming about the time when I have the blessing and priviledge and freedom/call, of putting more effectively and in more ways, the love of God in action, and witness/testify;demonstrate, remove burdens, preach, encourage more fully. I know that sounds like a pat (Is that the right word?) or religious, or a, what every Christians’ supposed to say answer, but it’s true, as far as I can tell. Beyond that, I really don’t know yet, what I like or don’t like or what I enjoy. I’m just learning who or what I am, letting go of what was, (with the Lord’s help), and experiencing what it is to live and what it is exactly that I do enjoy in the context of a new creation, now that the Messiah has set me (is setting me) free.
I’ve suffered with repetitive tormenting thoughts, severe urges and unctions/compulsions, (What I used to call internal terets for lack of knowledge/definition/truth.), resulting in disassociations, withdrawals and detachment, and the resulting severe depression and suicidal thoughts, fears, and silence. By the time I was nineteen, I was a full grown agoraphobe. Thankfully, with a husband I had met shortly before it became the most severe, who loved me, and allowed me to just be, at home, without a word about me needing help or that I should get help…. God is good. I know my husband was his provision. I became aware of the call of God in May/June 2003. And recieved salvation.
I enjoy getting to spend time outside, going places by myself and with others(besides my husband), building relationships with others… for the most part, though it still is uncomfortable… Most of all, I like the blessing and priviledge of loving on others, the freedom to enjoy life and the freedom of knowing there is hope for the future. The priviledge and blessing of love, freedom to live everyday live (and do everyday things) and the capacity to enjoy is just that a blessing and a priviledge.
I confess..this is the first time I have told this publicly…
Hi, my name is Phyllis. I’m totally blind. I live in Canada Ontario! some of you might remember me, I’ve written here before not on this blog, but, I’ve written here before. but now, I’m participating in the getting to know you. i’m 48 I live on my own. never been married or have kids. I know Ive told you before Renee. I love this study so much! God is really challenging me using this study to challenge me to get to know him ore and liste! because, I do like to talk talk talk! Hobbies, I have lots! but if I have to pick, i would say my favourite favourite, is reading! Braille books! listening to music! jusut started a couple of years ago, listening to Christian music, I’ve never heard Christan music before and I love it! as I’ve said in earlier posts, I have an amazing computer with speech program that reads me everything, and I can do everything a nore computer someone with a normal computer can do. I just have to know the key stroke commands to do things. a couple of limitations. the computer only reads word files, I notice the book confident heart is p.d.f. file I always thought it doesn’t read those, my computer teacher a few weeks ago, just told me, sometimes, the sppech software will read those files. She gave me special instructions. Renee, at the end of the last stuedy, you were giving away free downloads for your book. Well, I hope for another opportunity for that! hearing a lot of women in the past talk about what their favourite pages are in the book really has helped me to know the book, however, I’m still interested in donwlodading it on my computer for free because I’m on a monthly disability pension that doesn’t give to much! just to say a bit more about myself. I have a braille bible the old king james version. It does have strange words in it. I’m hooked up with a web site called biblegateway where I get free devotionals and that’s how I heard about you. I get to hear an audio on the web site of the bible every day English translation! This is so cool! getting to know everyone! Sorry, I didn’t mean to say so much! Great study! and getting to know everyone!
