I’ll go first: I’m 45 and live in North Carolina. In my free time (which I wish I had more of) I love to sit in my backyard and relax or play games with my family. I also love to watch a movie with my husband or as a family, or read a good book.

Hi! I am Pam from Grove City, OH, (though my hometown is Grove City, PA). I am 53 years old and I love to read, take leisurely walks, or spend time with my husband and 3 adult children and 1 teenage son. Three of my children and my husband are very musical, so I also love to hear them practice to share their ministry with our church.
Hi Pam.
We live in Springfield but used to live in Galloway, which is about 20 minutes from Grove City I believe. It sounds like fun at your house with your family being musically inclined. I love music but I can’t play or sing well. I just listen alot. 🙂
I’m 44 and live in Colorado.
There is not a lot of free time for a working mom with a 7-yr old son and a 3-yr old daughter (they need a younger mom!). But together, we like to hike in our national park, read, and explore different kinds of music. I like to relax with Holy Yoga or a glass of wine on the deck with my hubby of 24 years.

Renee and all you great women out there – I ask today that you keep my best friend, Joan in your prayers. After almost 4 years on dialysis, yesterday morning she received a kidney transplant.
She is doing much better today. Although, she did have a bad night with nausea and vomitting. The doctors believe this is from the anesthesia as well as the new meds (anti-rejection). This morning they had her out of bed sitting on the recliner. She was able to walk (with assistance) to the chair from the bed. The new kidney is functioning as she is producing a good amount of urine. The only worry at the moment is that her potassium levels are high besides the nausea. Fortunately, she has stopped vomitting. The doctors will play around with her meds to get the right doses. Once her potassium levels go down and the nausea stops they will begin her on a clear liquid diet, then on to solid foods and then home!
For the next few months she has a boatload of appointments, beginning 7 June. The first few weeks will see her going back and forth to Lehigh Valley Health Network -Cedar Crest twice a week, then she’ll have a biopsy of the new kidney at the one month mark. Then she’ll go back and forth to LVHN – CC only once a week, then down to once a month. At the six month mark, she’ll have another biopsy. I have a list of her appointments that bring her to November of this year.
She will be very restricted on visits as we need to keep her away from the risk of infection. She will be able to drive in about 3 weeks. Some of the restrictions include “no flowers” because of the risk of infection (I hadn’t realised this). I bring it up as her mother was going to send flowers, but that’s a BIG NO-NO for transplant patients.
Joan will have a regimen of 7 meds to take 4 times a day, some will only be given for a three month period, but the anti-rejection pills will be for life.
All we know of the donor was that it was a young child. Please pray for the parents of that child as, although we are grateful for their gift, we can only imagine what they are going through with the loss of a child.
