Here’s a peek inside:
“I can’t do it all! I am not cut out to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a speaker, a writer and all the other things God has called me to.” I had barely opened my eyes, yet I already felt beat up by feelings of inadequacy. My thoughts were against me, and my feelings were too. About that time, my radio alarm came on and my thoughts were interrupted by Twila Paris. With confident assurance, she sang truth to my soul, telling me it was not a time for fear, but a time for faith and determination. She challenged me not to lose my vision or be carried away by my emotions, but to hold on to all that I had hidden in my heart, and all I believed to be true. Then she reminded me of the most important truth of all: God is in control.1 As my thoughts aligned with God’s truth, my whole perspective changed. I went from feeling afraid to feeling determined, from feeling out of control to knowing God is in control.
Every day we have a choice – to either to let doubt beat us up or to let God’s truth build us up.
In the same way a radio has AM and FM frequencies, our thoughts do too. They are either AM (against me) or FM (for me) thoughts. Honestly, we are often our worst critics and have a lot of AM thoughts. And if our thoughts are against us, our feelings will be too. The next time you get feelings of inadequacy, stop and identify what you are thinking that is making you feel that way. Then compare your thoughts to God’s thoughts found in the Bible. Do they match? If not, find a promise in God’s Word to replace the lie that has filled your heart with doubt and start thinking about that promise. Even say it out loud and pray the words, asking God to make them true for you in that moment.
For instance, when doubt comes against you, telling you that you’re weak and all alone, focus on the truth that God is for you! You can be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Then why not turn that truth into a prayer – claiming how much God is for you: God I’m so thankful You are for me. Because You are for me and with me, I can be strong and courageous in this situation. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me. I’m choosing to think Your words that are for me instead of listening to the doubts that so easily come against me. You have full access to God’s power and His promises to live with a confident heart. But it won’t just happen because it’s possible. You have to take action! Just like I tuned into a Christian music station the night before, let’s be intentional about tuning our thoughts into God’s thoughts toward us, today and every day! Lord, help me remember today that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and feelings of inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
When I say: Everything and everyone is against me. God says: I am for you! “What, then, shall [you] say in response to these things? If God is for [you], who can be against [you]?” Romans 8:31 (NIV)

Always love to grow more and more in God’s words!!!
I have had struggled with insecurities all of my life in my career, relationships, parenting, and with my weight. I am currently reading a confident heart and am amazed at how many of the circumstances outlined in the book mirror my own life. This is only through the first 3 chapters. I like Renee Swope telling it like it is and backing it up with biblical truths. It is helping to create in me a confident heart…one that I have not known to have existed. I would love to win the prize pack to share the insights and truths with a friend as well as stregthening my own path in becoming confident.
I am going through some major changes in my life, setbacks and emotions that have me fearful and doubting. I could really use a daily devotional to help me my head and heart focused and remember that He has a plan. He is always with me and for me! God Bless!
If you are still taking entries to receiving your book…
My 18 year old daughter (yes, I AM a member of the “World’s Smartest 18 Year Old” group!) has married under the pretence of being pregnant. After finding out that she was wrong, it went south rapidly. She has recently come home (after reporting domestic abuse) and has started attending bible studies and church with me. However, she is still wavering in what she feels and what she knows is true. This devotional may help her see things that the Bible, mom and dad, and her church has said but yet she feels are untrue. (ie: she is worthy, she is not meant to be under “his’ heel, she has hope and a future, etc.)
Pleae consider her (and us!) to receive a copy to work through together–I need insight in counseling her as much as she needs truth in navigating these waters!
Prior to accepting Jesus unfailing love, I struggled with insecurities. It’s only been 2 years and I still find myself sucked into the enemy’s lies. The only thing that pulls me through is God’s word and reminders of God’s word. As a mental health counselor working with women healing from trauma, I look for resources to share with them. So not only do books and materials help me, but I use them when working with others as individuals and in groups. Thank you for writing this book 🙂
Thank you for extending this offer to help others with this wonderful devotional. I would love to when a copy as right now I am working to find my calling. What God has propose my life to fulfill for his glory. I often times enter my day with gratefulness to get another chance to represent God. Yet, I feel inadequate. My faith is on shake grounds as I have up on going to church two years ago because I felt as though no one cared if my daughter and I attended. I felt lonely. I have to focus and service others while I figure out my calling from God
Again, thank you for making this available. Know that you are making a difference in the lives of so many, your own, you families, and the Kingdom of heaven.
An awesome giveaway opportunity for my friend and me — both of whom are going through hard times right now.
I am doing the current online A Confident Heart bible study. I can relate to the ideas Renee presents in the book. the devotional book will be a complement to the study. God has blessed my life with this study.
I would like to win Renee’s devotional to share with a friend and for myself as I’m digesting the pages in her book while doing the OBS for ACH. I struggle a few times a week with feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, and isolation from others at church, my extended family, other venues and work. Its’ funny that I have this feeling at church, a place where I would hope / expect to feel like I matter.
There have been days when I’ve thought that no one would ever notice that I’m gone if were to no longer show up for work or participate in my Sunday classes at church; it’s like I’m inconsequential, unacceptable..invisible.
I’m too the point of tears now…

I look forward to reading your book. Proverbs 31 devotionals are great . If we trust in God he will lead our paths to where he wants us. Its hard to just lean on him and let him lead the way. Thanks
Finally I know and accept there is coming a day when Jesus Christ my Saviour I will see!!
Dear Renee, I have read and saved a copy of the first chapter of your book, and have shared many of your devotional emails with my family and friends. Many days they have made a difference in my relationship with God and others in my life. Your new devotional book would be a blessing for me to read and pass along to another daughter-woman-mother-grandmother in need. God has truly blessed you and your ministry!
I would love to have this book for my daughter, Natalie…she is 31, and a single Mom with 2 kids…working nights in a NICU and going to graduauate school….she is often overwhelemd with all she is doing …but, she is staying the course. She could definitely use some encouragement, though!
I struggled to find correct link for entering competition to win your book and dvds, Satan’s way of allowing my negative thoughts to remain in my head. Boy do I need this book, feeling down right low and yet knowing I have so much to be thankful for. I desperately need a confident heart and to begin to believe in myself the way God sees me and believes in me and the plans he had for me. Leanne

Evangelist Babu.
It sounds like an amazing book and I would love to give a copy to my daughter who sometimes struggles with insecurity.
I want to walk with God every second of the day with a confidence. I don’t want to ever doubt Gods grace, love and his plans that he has for me
I am in a constant daily struggle with beating myself up and putting my self down as not good enough. I am in a bad situation and have been ripped of my self confidence and self esteem to push myself forward to change my current circumstance, giving up seems a better option. This book would really help me to learn to gain and increase my self esteem and know that with God by my side all thing are possible.
Thank you for your website : )
Hey!
I’m Riina a 25 year old young woman living in Estonia… Eastern Europe.
I would like to win this copy because hopefully I’ll be marryed next year to a wonderful man who loves and cares for me but because of my insecurities and hurtful past I need God’s guidance and encauragment to overcome the past I’ve had.
A littel breview: I was rised by my mother because my father left when I was two and died when I was 5 or 6 yrs old. I found God when I was 14. Lived with Him and grew to love him. At 18 years old my mother passed away and that followed by 3 years of haiting God and haiting my life. God saved me from 5 attemts to kill myself. Thankfully I found Him and church family again in 2009. But all the wounds and fears are still in me. I know the power of his word and really think that this devotional could really help me.
I work as a volunteer missionary in a youth group. The other copy I would give to one of my young friends. She is 17 years old and has been fithing a roller coaster ofbBulimia and cutting herself and suicidal thoughts. She wins the battel one time and loses it the other. She has really low selfesteem. I think this devotional book would help her to win the battel of her life totally over to God.
She saw the book “A oinfident heart” on my book self and told: “I need to read this book” I’ll lend it to her next time I see her.
I would really like to win these books because in the long run they can help a group of young women here in Estonia. I would purchase them but at the moment its not possible.
I have been reading Proverbs devotional with my friend for the past year.and have found them to be very inspiring.I also purchased your book written by you and your daughter for my teenage daughter as part of her High school graduation gift.Looking forward to reading this faith building devotional.
