Here’s a peek inside:
“I can’t do it all! I am not cut out to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a speaker, a writer and all the other things God has called me to.” I had barely opened my eyes, yet I already felt beat up by feelings of inadequacy. My thoughts were against me, and my feelings were too. About that time, my radio alarm came on and my thoughts were interrupted by Twila Paris. With confident assurance, she sang truth to my soul, telling me it was not a time for fear, but a time for faith and determination. She challenged me not to lose my vision or be carried away by my emotions, but to hold on to all that I had hidden in my heart, and all I believed to be true. Then she reminded me of the most important truth of all: God is in control.1 As my thoughts aligned with God’s truth, my whole perspective changed. I went from feeling afraid to feeling determined, from feeling out of control to knowing God is in control.
Every day we have a choice – to either to let doubt beat us up or to let God’s truth build us up.
In the same way a radio has AM and FM frequencies, our thoughts do too. They are either AM (against me) or FM (for me) thoughts. Honestly, we are often our worst critics and have a lot of AM thoughts. And if our thoughts are against us, our feelings will be too. The next time you get feelings of inadequacy, stop and identify what you are thinking that is making you feel that way. Then compare your thoughts to God’s thoughts found in the Bible. Do they match? If not, find a promise in God’s Word to replace the lie that has filled your heart with doubt and start thinking about that promise. Even say it out loud and pray the words, asking God to make them true for you in that moment.
For instance, when doubt comes against you, telling you that you’re weak and all alone, focus on the truth that God is for you! You can be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Then why not turn that truth into a prayer – claiming how much God is for you: God I’m so thankful You are for me. Because You are for me and with me, I can be strong and courageous in this situation. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me. I’m choosing to think Your words that are for me instead of listening to the doubts that so easily come against me. You have full access to God’s power and His promises to live with a confident heart. But it won’t just happen because it’s possible. You have to take action! Just like I tuned into a Christian music station the night before, let’s be intentional about tuning our thoughts into God’s thoughts toward us, today and every day! Lord, help me remember today that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and feelings of inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
When I say: Everything and everyone is against me. God says: I am for you! “What, then, shall [you] say in response to these things? If God is for [you], who can be against [you]?” Romans 8:31 (NIV)

Have a eye on this series would be nice to win never can learn enough or be encouraged enough to be a better servant
Sounds like a great book for me and for my best friend – we both need encouragement right now.
This books sounds like it was tailor-made for me. Though God (and Jesus) have told me over and over, it still is so hard to just let go and believe what they’re telling me.
I am so looking forward to getting this book and am now excited they will have a devotional. I struggle DAILY, minute by minute with my insecurity, always questioning my role as wife, mother, daughter, coworker, friend. I am not new to being a Christian, but definitely new to giving God all of me.
Praying for you Michelle.

Hi! As I have been seeing the confident heart devotional around the Proverbs 31 website, I thought to myself I need to read this. This is exactly what I need in this season and as I soon enter a new one. 🙂 I read the entry written in your blog today and it really spoke to me. Yes in deed God is in control and and He is for us. All His promises will come to pass all at His time not ours. 🙂 just want to share a bit of what God wants me to do in this next season of my life. It’s actually to move to New York City by March 2014. He has given me a glimpse of what He wants me to do there. I’m excited and expectant, yes!!! But… I think I forgot to mention that I’m from Manila, Philippines. So it’s a BIG move and takes BIG faith for me to do what God wants. The entry you have today taken from the devotional encouraged me. The God we serve is a mighty and awesome God. He is in control, orchestrating everything for our good. 🙂
Chiara,
You have to love how God works! So blessed that Renee’s story has blessed and encouraged you. Praying for you,
Blessings,

I would like to be entered to win the bundle because I unfortunately can’t afford to purchase the book and am very interested in reading it, and if i can share a copy it would be with my mother who, even though she believes in God and Jesus, her “church” has her believing that she can get to heaven by wearing a piece of cloth (scapula?) on her person when she dies. she is lost and doesn’t know it. perhaps a devotional that puts Gods Word in her mind daily will help her to Jesus.
I would be thrilled to win your devotional for myself and a friend! We are both seniors and challenged with caring for aging parents, my friend has a rare eye disease and is almost legally blind. I love the Proverbs 31 daily devotionals.
Hi There, I would love to be entered into the draw for the Confident Heart bundle. I read the book and it was so relevant to what my life is like and to what I have gone through and am going through. I believe in reading the book together with prayer I have grown in my faith walk.
I would like to win your book because I went through a situation where I walked down a path that was away from God. My impatience lead me to being put out of the chruch, becoming rebellious, having an addiction to crack cocaine. In the course of three years I’ve felt lost and in totally darkness. But wait there is an happy ending. God has delivered me and I love sharing what the almighty powerful God has done for me.
Be blessed
Praising God for His faithfulness and his deliverance from addiction.

I am entering a new part of my life and as i am beginning my journey with God would like any kind of help with learning and growing as a christian woman. My ultimate goal is to confidently say “I am a child of God. I am a Proverbs 31 woman. I am the woman My Father created me to be.”
I would love to win your devotional book I have been having a lot going on in the past year and a half We found out that our middle daughter has a cancer, but due to a new boyfriend we have no contact with her. We still are paying for her insurance so we know that she is getting care, but out side of that nothing? I hear from others that they see her and it breaks our hearts, but we are just waiting and praying to God that he will bring her (or she will come back) before it’s too late. And I also want to say I saw another woman say she thought that she had done her best, and that’s the same things that I (we) have been saying I also have heard others have troubles and try to say that it’s God’s fault, but I know for us, without him, right now I don’t know what we would do Thank you for listening.
Praying for you and your daughter.
Blessings

Moya,
My heart goes out to you…I’ve experienced a daughter who walked away from us for a time but I kept on praying and God has restored our relationship…keep praying and I will pray with you as the Lord leads. God loves your daughter. He has great plans for her and He is with her. Rest in His arms, trusting Him to work it all out for her good and His glory. He loves you!
Love,
Kim
I went through your study and although my confidence level is way up, I feel the devotional would help me to hit the top and I have changed so much from the study, I look forward to the daily devotional. Thank you for imparting so much into so many women’s lives so they can be confident. Linda
I had asked God to use me to help someone else from an experience he walked
me through. Today,a friend confided that her marriage is in trouble. I was able
to share God’s love with her. I want her to have a confident heart. I would love to have
A copy of the book for myself and her as we share God’s mercy during
this particular time.
Would love to win this!
This would be a help in my daily walk with Jesus
I would love to win a copy of the devotional book. I’m feeling a little lost and confused right now and my faith is being tested. Having a daily reminder that I can trust in the Lord with all my heart would really help during this time.
I am enjoying P31’s OBS on the chapter book so much, I just know the devotional would be a blessing in my life!
Thank you and I share it with others using the internet and I learn, educate myself and how to interpret the word of GOD. It has helped in tough times.
After struggling with feelings of inadequacy all of my life, leading to failure after failure, I would like to know what it feels like to be confident and courageous.
Renee,
A confident heart is what I have been in need of for as far back as my memory serves. This book has been both a challenge and blessing for me. Having a devotional to reinforce what I am learning and a reference to keep going back to just makes so much sense. It also helps to know that when the book and study are over I won’t feel like I’m left hanging out there alone. I will still have something extra to keep refreshing my heart with as I continue with the healing processes.
Unfortunately both my daughters need the same. They have both experienced so much brokenness in their lives that only God can heal. I believe the devotional would be a great way to open the door for healing as they rediscover the unconditional love God has for them and the awesome women he has created them to be.
Thank you for allowing God to use you and your life.
God’s healing is a journey and we are praying for your heart and your daughters.
Blessings,
Donna
