“I can’t do it all! I am not cut out to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a speaker, a writer and all the other things God has called me to.” I had barely opened my eyes, yet I already felt beat up by feelings of inadequacy. My thoughts were against me, and my feelings were too. About that time, my radio alarm came on and my thoughts were interrupted by Twila Paris. With confident assurance, she sang truth to my soul, telling me it was not a time for fear, but a time for faith and determination. She challenged me not to lose my vision or be carried away by my emotions, but to hold on to all that I had hidden in my heart, and all I believed to be true. Then she reminded me of the most important truth of all: God is in control.1 As my thoughts aligned with God’s truth, my whole perspective changed. I went from feeling afraid to feeling determined, from feeling out of control to knowing God is in control.
Every day we have a choice – to either to let doubt beat us up or to let God’s truth build us up.
In the same way a radio has AM and FM frequencies, our thoughts do too. They are either AM (against me) or FM (for me) thoughts. Honestly, we are often our worst critics and have a lot of AM thoughts. And if our thoughts are against us, our feelings will be too. The next time you get feelings of inadequacy, stop and identify what you are thinking that is making you feel that way. Then compare your thoughts to God’s thoughts found in the Bible. Do they match? If not, find a promise in God’s Word to replace the lie that has filled your heart with doubt and start thinking about that promise. Even say it out loud and pray the words, asking God to make them true for you in that moment.
For instance, when doubt comes against you, telling you that you’re weak and all alone, focus on the truth that God is for you! You can be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Then why not turn that truth into a prayer – claiming how much God is for you: God I’m so thankful You are for me. Because You are for me and with me, I can be strong and courageous in this situation. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me. I’m choosing to think Your words that are for me instead of listening to the doubts that so easily come against me. You have full access to God’s power and His promises to live with a confident heart. But it won’t just happen because it’s possible. You have to take action! Just like I tuned into a Christian music station the night before, let’s be intentional about tuning our thoughts into God’s thoughts toward us, today and every day! Lord, help me remember today that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and feelings of inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

It is easy to let doubt overwhelm and forget that God is a always with us. This is my first OBS and I am enjoying this book!
I would love this book, I am struggling now with how to help a homeless family, I feel torn between opening my home to one of the children, the family could get a 2 bedroom apartment with one less child. I just don’t know if I am ready to be a full time parent again and my home is very small, yet I feel selfish.
Would love to win. So much going on in my life at this moment that there are days i wonder why i even bother to get out of bed. It’s only through the grace of God that i’m still standing. As a single mom to 3 – i’m weary and could use an uplift.
A wonderful, godly woman from my church has been mentoring me since March. We meet weekly and pray, encourage eachother and go though a devotional together. We are currently looking for our next devotional and this would be a great one!

Three and a half months ago my husband decided to walk away from God and pursue a divorce. Just a few weeks ago he came back to God and me. Per Gods guidance, I never stopped loving him and love him still. However we have a long road ahead & i do have battle scars to heal. One of those scars is named “insecurity”. This may be a last ditch effort of satan to drag me away from God. (won’t work) I find myself struggling with what God wants me to do next and to be confident in that direction. To God be all the glory!!
God does get all the glory when restoration to Himself is involved and to marriages. Praising Him for both.

I am looking for a good devotional. I see lots of good comments about this. thank you for a chance to get this.
I would love to win. The visa would pay bills. The devo would be for my & my youngest. We’re both doing the OBS & it’s so amazing. I feel stressed often, I’m responsible for everything gets exhausting but, I’m believing that He is with me getting me through it all.

I started to read this book in January or February of this year. Little did I know that this book would change my life. This was the beginning of the journey the Lord has me on…this book prepared me for the storm in my life which started in April. I had to know where my confidence and security was in order to make it through….thank you! I am still in the storm but my confidence and security is in him..JESUS.
This book would be so inspiring for my best friend as she going through treatment for breast cancer. She
is a very strong person and tries to act like nothing is a big deal including this illness, I think this would
help me in a unspoken way so she can have the faith she needs. For me as her friend, I am scared for
her. I am not confident in my self so how can I be with God. I would love to strengthen my relationship
with God and be more confident in myself. Thanks for writing this devotional!

I really want to read A Confident Heart and now this new devotional. I want my relationship with God to grow and I know the more time I spend in His Word as well as different studies will help me tremendously. I would love to have this series on my shelf at home. I would love to win this to use as a study for the newly formed L&L Book Club. My best friend and I decided we needed a set date every month to meet together without kids or husbands. Just us and coffee and a book! And this giveaway would be perfect for us!
Because I am currently studying the book with a group of women from Woven on Thursdays, and my sister too but on Tuesdays and we are constantly chasing the book away from one another!!! It’s time she gets her own copy, and what a blessing it would be to surprise her with her very own!!!
