a “Let God Love You” {prayer} & giveaway

Today I wanted to share with you a “LetGodLoveYou” Prayer written by my sweet and amazing friend Sheila Mangum.

“Lord, you are GREAT and most worthy to be praised. (Psalm 145:3) There is NONE like You. (Jeremiah 10:6) You are the God who sees. (Genesis 16:13) You see Your daughter in desperate need of Your love and attention. (Psalm 121:1-8) Your heart yearns for her wholeness. (John 5:5-7) Your desire is for her heart to explode with Your love. Your love is safe for her. It will not wound. (Psalm 147:3)

Your love heals and delivers. It will NOT leave. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Father, stoop down this minute and give Your daughter the attention she needs today. (Psalm 18:35) She feels alone. She feels weak. Therefore, fill her days with laughter, love, and beauty. (Proverbs 17:22) Strengthen her spirit to receive Your healing love. Even if she feels like running from you, chase her down. Prove to Your daughter You are faithful no matter what! (2 Timothy 2:13)

Give her encouragement when she expects it the least. (1 John 4:19) Give her mercy when she feels the least to deserve it. (Ephesians 2:4) Give her whispers of love into her heart. (Psalm 73:26) Let her taste and see that You are good. She is fortunate because YOU are Faithful and True! (Revelation 19:11) “O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the woman who trusts and takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8 (AMP) Father, wipe her tears today and love her BIG. (Revelation 21:4)

Friend, let’s Let God Love US as we RETURN TO OUR FIRST LOVE today. (Revelation 2:4) In the Mighty Name of Jesus we have prayed. Amen and Amen!

  1. I would LOVE to learn how to let God love me. For my daughter. I see her young heart hurt-when she feels alone, unlovable, unloved, and sometimes worthless. I can speak truth to her, but honestly, I still have those exact feelings too. And then the words I tell her are hollow at best. I want so badly for her to know fully, truly how God cherishes her and values her, that she is never really alone and that God sees her as beautiful even if she doesn’t feel beautiful or when her peers reject her.

  18. I realize now at 53 years of age that for so many years early in my life I was just looking to be accepted and loved. I looked basically to be the perfect little girl, the perfect teenager, and the perfect grown-up girl so no one could see any of my flaws and the fact that I was not perfect. I also had a failed first marriage because I married someone who said he loved me and paid attention to him. What took me so long to realize was that who I was and what I did or how I even looked would not earn me the love I so desired.
    Over the last couple of years I have been earnestly seeking God more and more. To fully realize now just how much he loves me is absolutely incredible. Basically, he loves me in spite of me!
    The prayer you shared is so wonderful. It makes me just bask in the glow of God’s love and how incredible it is to think that he really cares for me, just little old me.

  19. Hello all, I love writing down my prayers in a prayer journal sometimes it’s the only way I can focus on my prayers. I get too many things popping in my head and the only way to keep that all out is to be more focued on what I am trying to write so if I am writing my prayers I am focusing just on my prayers and not junk.

    I loved the prayer above, when I was young I didn’t feel I was worthy of being loved and I would pray for God to send me someone that would love me and omg he did he not only sent my husband but I now have a son and I also have Gods love more then anything.I always had God’s love I just didn’t realize it.

  37. I absolutely ADORE Sheila’s blog. Her prayers speak straight to my heart & I honestly feel like i can close my eyes & picture her kneeling in my living room with me, her arm around my shoulder, interceding with God on my behalf. I always end up in tears, but that’s a good thing sometimes. 🙂

  38. Thanks for the prayer. Really what I needed today. Trying to work on my fears but it is difficult when the one doing most of the wounding is the one who is supposed to take care of you. I needed to be reminded that God sees, knows and will take care of me.

  39. I so love prayers that are praying scripture. Praying God’s word over someone is such a blessing. I have been trying to do this more and more each time I pray.

  42. I would love to win a prayer journal. Thank you for sharing the amazing prayer. My husband of almost 22 years just had an affair and was unwilling to end it with her and we are getting divorced. This is the man who has told me for the last 22 years “Divorce is not an option.” and “We will always do what it takes to make it work.” I am devastated. And I must admit I fall prey to Satan’s lies when I am so hurt, alone and angry. Especially when I think about the pain our 8 year old daughter is experiencing.

When I first read it I immediately thought of my daughter so not only will I pray this for myself but also for her. I would love to have a new prayer journal, my present journal is filling up quick.   47. Such perfect timing! I really needed to read this prayer literally right now. I’m a single mother of 3 little girls who I love dearly, but I am suffering from the nasty lies of the enemy. I’ve been feeling so depressed and overwhelmed that I was questioning my purpose and felt like I’m not worthy to be alive. As I write this it brings tears down my face because I know God truly loves me enough to care about me and my girls. I know He used this prayer to remind me of His great love and constant pursuit of my heart. Thank you so much for sharing Renee… May God bless u and Shiela! I have been struggling to find the right words to pray over my sister who is battling with substance addiction and these words are just the right ones to say. As I read over each one I couldn’t help but think how they applied to my own personal life but also how they could be so encouraging for my sister.
