“I can’t do it all! I am not cut out to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a speaker, a writer and all the other things God has called me to.” I had barely opened my eyes, yet I already felt beat up by feelings of inadequacy. My thoughts were against me, and my feelings were too. About that time, my radio alarm came on and my thoughts were interrupted by Twila Paris. With confident assurance, she sang truth to my soul, telling me it was not a time for fear, but a time for faith and determination. She challenged me not to lose my vision or be carried away by my emotions, but to hold on to all that I had hidden in my heart, and all I believed to be true. Then she reminded me of the most important truth of all: God is in control.1 As my thoughts aligned with God’s truth, my whole perspective changed. I went from feeling afraid to feeling determined, from feeling out of control to knowing God is in control.
Every day we have a choice – to either to let doubt beat us up or to let God’s truth build us up.
In the same way a radio has AM and FM frequencies, our thoughts do too. They are either AM (against me) or FM (for me) thoughts. Honestly, we are often our worst critics and have a lot of AM thoughts. And if our thoughts are against us, our feelings will be too. The next time you get feelings of inadequacy, stop and identify what you are thinking that is making you feel that way. Then compare your thoughts to God’s thoughts found in the Bible. Do they match? If not, find a promise in God’s Word to replace the lie that has filled your heart with doubt and start thinking about that promise. Even say it out loud and pray the words, asking God to make them true for you in that moment.
For instance, when doubt comes against you, telling you that you’re weak and all alone, focus on the truth that God is for you! You can be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Then why not turn that truth into a prayer – claiming how much God is for you: God I’m so thankful You are for me. Because You are for me and with me, I can be strong and courageous in this situation. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me. I’m choosing to think Your words that are for me instead of listening to the doubts that so easily come against me. You have full access to God’s power and His promises to live with a confident heart. But it won’t just happen because it’s possible. You have to take action! Just like I tuned into a Christian music station the night before, let’s be intentional about tuning our thoughts into God’s thoughts toward us, today and every day! Lord, help me remember today that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and feelings of inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I thought I was handling my husband’s unemployment well…..outwardly I am good but inside I am full of fear. I find myself “waiting for the other shoe to drop” in every situation. I’m tired of being afraid. I need help.
I need to jump start my feelings of self-doubt. I have so many good ideas on sharing my faith.
I would love to win this. I’m having a hard time with family relationships.
Just reading the few pages shown above really got me excited about reading this book!! I know my friends and I would benefit greatly from it! Thank you for writing a book that shows us how God believes in us, is for us, and is always in control! In this crazy world, those things can be easily hidden once the hussle of your day sets way. I love your book and love it when a devo or blog post comes through reminding me of the things i learned through it. I have a daughter who is a sr in high school. THis will be perfect for college! A great idea for graduation gifts too!
As a single parent, I have amazed myself at what I am able to handle and accomplish on my own. Things I never would have believed I could have done. However, I have also learned how much encouragement helps me and self encouragement even more so. I think this would be a wonderful addition to my “toolkit” that I reach into when I need to get myself back on track.
I’m currently doing the online study of the book and would love to have a daily devotional to go along with it. The devotional would be a great Christmas present to give to one of my friends.
I need some guidance. I would love to have some help in getting where I am suppose to be.

Life can be very challenging at times. Just when i think things are going good boom somethings else comes up and i feel like defeated again. God has really been working on my heart for the last several months now. I know he is trying to teach me to trust in him and also is showing me i need to be obedient to him. i would love to have this devotional book to help me in most difficult times when i just don’t feel like i have the confidence to go on. i know this book will point me in the right direction and tell me where to go in scripture. i know one of the ladies in my Bible study would love to have this book.

This would be a great book for my friend and I. We meet each week to share with each other how our week went, what God is laying on our hearts, and what we need to be lifted up in prayer. It is also just a good time for fellowship with a sister in Christ!

This would be a great book to boost confidence in myself and a friend. I would love to win this book.
I am a firstborn; I feel like I have to take care of everyone, everyone but myself. My mother chose men and alcohol over her children when I was young and I left her home to move in with my maternal grandmother. My mother then gave the other children up for adoption. I lived with my grandmother until I married at 25; she walked me down the isle. In her 80’s she started showing signs of dementia and having tia’s; my aunt used this to her advantage and convinced my grandmother that I was stealing from her (even though it was her name on all the checks written). She made my aunt her POA which gave my aunt the control to put her into a nursing home. I have always had walls built up and don’t let people in. I couldn’t bring myself to visit her in the nursing home on a regular basis; when I did, she always thought I was my aunt. One evening she was speaking about me and she said couldn’t remember my name; she said “oh, you know, the one that lived with me for a while and you never liked her.” WOW! What a blow! Now, I learned that my entire teen/early adult years were a lie.
I have nothing to do with that side of my family; I don’t want anymore lies and deception from them.
I have always doubted that I’m good enough; that God can love ME and that I’m worthy of anyone’s love.
I have purchased A Confident Heart in the hopes that I can truly believe that God loves me and thinks I’m worth something. This devotional would be a wonderful addition.

Life can be overwhelming. Just when you think there is hope something else happens. I think God is trying to get my attention with all that is happening. I want to be obedient to him and put him first in all things because I know he can handle everything. I have been reading the bible and studying it. I would love to have something else with another perspective to share with my neighbor who I study with.

Chapter 2 grabbed a hold of the one area that has kept me stuck in Gods Grace
And forgiveness in my head. But need it to grab a hold it in my heart and life.
I have been not able to get past my choices that hurt my own self and others.
I am ready for Gods transformation of Forgiveness to take over my life and remove the doubt
And fear that has crippled me in my Faith.
I would love to have this book to help me in My Journey of Forgiveness and grace that god has already
