“I can’t do it all! I am not cut out to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a speaker, a writer and all the other things God has called me to.” I had barely opened my eyes, yet I already felt beat up by feelings of inadequacy. My thoughts were against me, and my feelings were too. About that time, my radio alarm came on and my thoughts were interrupted by Twila Paris. With confident assurance, she sang truth to my soul, telling me it was not a time for fear, but a time for faith and determination. She challenged me not to lose my vision or be carried away by my emotions, but to hold on to all that I had hidden in my heart, and all I believed to be true. Then she reminded me of the most important truth of all: God is in control.1 As my thoughts aligned with God’s truth, my whole perspective changed. I went from feeling afraid to feeling determined, from feeling out of control to knowing God is in control.
Every day we have a choice – to either to let doubt beat us up or to let God’s truth build us up.
In the same way a radio has AM and FM frequencies, our thoughts do too. They are either AM (against me) or FM (for me) thoughts. Honestly, we are often our worst critics and have a lot of AM thoughts. And if our thoughts are against us, our feelings will be too. The next time you get feelings of inadequacy, stop and identify what you are thinking that is making you feel that way. Then compare your thoughts to God’s thoughts found in the Bible. Do they match? If not, find a promise in God’s Word to replace the lie that has filled your heart with doubt and start thinking about that promise. Even say it out loud and pray the words, asking God to make them true for you in that moment.
For instance, when doubt comes against you, telling you that you’re weak and all alone, focus on the truth that God is for you! You can be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Then why not turn that truth into a prayer – claiming how much God is for you: God I’m so thankful You are for me. Because You are for me and with me, I can be strong and courageous in this situation. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me. I’m choosing to think Your words that are for me instead of listening to the doubts that so easily come against me. You have full access to God’s power and His promises to live with a confident heart. But it won’t just happen because it’s possible. You have to take action! Just like I tuned into a Christian music station the night before, let’s be intentional about tuning our thoughts into God’s thoughts toward us, today and every day! Lord, help me remember today that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and feelings of inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Its even hard to express my gratitude for your devotionals, the one i can say is Im thankful you are so sentitive to the Holy Spirit. I ve had one of my most challenging and dificult months of my life, and was incredible that , every morning when I opened my email the devocional of the day spoke straight into my situation on that specific day. Some nights i would wake up in the middle of the it and hope that your email already came throufh because I knew God would speak to me and strenghten me for another day. I dont know how all the other people felt about the devocionals since they were written specific for me ; ) . I m extremely appreciative of your ministry, and share on my FB page frequently and email to my friends too. I really dont know how I would have copped without it. thank

I enjoy reading Renee Swope. I would love to win because I homeschool and believe me there are doubts everyday!!! I am in Gods word daily and direct my children in the same manner. There are times that is so hard though. My sister in law homeschools as well and she would so love to have one too. Thank you for this chance.
I think we all struggle with having a confident heart in this current society that we are living in. However, my concern today is for my three daughters. One in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary. They are faced with such difficult situations, especially the older two. As a mother, I pray and am constantly looking for literature or opportunities that will allow me to teach them through God “how to have a confident heart” and how to make decisions that are consistant with their values. It is hard! This book would be a wonderful asset to bring all of us together in this journey towards raising girls/women who are confident through Christ. If I could get multiple books and the dvd, it might even allow the opportunity to bring other teenage girls together to pass along the same message. Thank you for writing this book!

I would love to win this for my mother in law & I. I had such a great opportunity to share what I’ve learned in my local women’s bible study with her this past Sunday in a casual conversation. I read all Proverb 31 Ministries Devotionals. + love all of them. You always address problems that happen in every day life.
As women we have such a huge responsibility of how our lives affect so many others. It seems our actions and thoughts can inspire or completely discourage those around us such as husbands, children, grandchildren, fellow Christians, co-workers and the list goes on and on. I want to learn to have complete trust and victory in the power of Jesus so I can be part of God’s plan to break the chains that hold so many women back from “joy unspeakable” in the Lord. Just reading the notes about your new book “A Confident Heart” already inspires me today to begin this journey of “turning my thoughts into God’s thoughts” and sharing this excitement of hope to those around me!

I love your Proverbs 31 Ministry! I would love to win copies of the Confident Heart devotional for myself and my best friend, Cel. We both have been through so much this side of Heaven, and struggle with fear and incessant insecurities daily. It’s funny we believe God’s promises for each other with our whole heart, but when it comes to believing it for ourselves, it’s a struggle! We love the Lord and each other, and are determined to continue to walk this “path’ together with Christ in the center….the daily devotional would be such an asset for our continued journey!
Being that I am always weighed down with self doubt, this would be a great book to have to read on a daily basis. I would be a great candidate to win this book for a friend and myself, because: I love sharing the good news with other women. If I tell another woman to read a book, they read it just because they trust my judgement and walk in Christ. I would also use this as an opportunity to set up a Bible study with other women and start a conversation, dialogue and exchange about what it means to be a woman after God’s own heart. It would also give me the opportunity to share in encouraging someone the entire time that we participated in the devotions together, as well as after.
I would love to win this book. I feel like I need this devotional book in my life right now!! I am having a rough time with my marriage & raising my rebellious teenage son. On top of that, I have MS and have had it for 6 years. I am 39 years old and life it just rough right now….sometimes it doesn’t seem quite fair. I recently had the privilege of guiding a dear friend to Christ and I think this devotion would be so encouraging for her…and ME! I’m excited to see her and I grow together and to gain valuable insight on growing up and going deep in Christ.
We walked through a impossible tragedy as a family two years ago, and I stopped to wonder where God’s plans would next lead us. I have looked at my daughters’ bond, wondering how their heartache and acceptance of what happened has shaped them, and realized they really need to find strength and support in each other throughout the rest of their time here on earth. I want to use this series as an accountability devotional for them to gather (through Skype, or face-time) and share how their study in this series is helping them, to draw them closer as not only sisters by blood, but also sisters in Christ. Winning these books and DVD’s would make a difference in our lives.

I haven’t read this book or even heard of it but it sounds great. I just turned 30 this year and i feel completey at a cross roads….I don’t know where to start. I have attended the Confident Heart online study twice and have truly enjoyed it. I download my book but would like to have a hard copy so that I could transfer my notes into the hard copy so that I could pass on to my daughters. I also have a friend in a small town who has the gift of teaching but is fearful of stepping out and actually doing it. I’ve encouraged her to do your online devotional but she has limited resources. If I won the bundle, I’d send a book and the DVDs to my friend so that she could step out and serve God in this capacity – since I truly believe she has the gift of teaching.
I am excited to win this because I would love to have another tool to help on my journey to a more confident woman in Christ! And how exciting that I would get to share one with a friend!!

I have been a stay at home mother for my 3 children for the last nine years. Last July my husband lost his job forcing me to go back to work outside the house. My church has a Bible study group that meets Friday mornings and I am unable to attend due to working.
I love the fact that your book addresses the issue that so many women have…feeling confident in their place as one of God’s beautiful, beloved daughters! Thank you for your ministry! All of my life I have struggled with trying to please people and have only recently (in the past couple years) been trying to see myself from God’s eyes, not the world’s eyes. It’s a daily battle, but is so necessary so that I can keep my focus on Him, and not waste precious time on things that don’t really matter in the context of eternity! 🙂

I just bought the book and am excited about it. I had read snippets on the Proverbs 31 site and it really spoke to me. I feel as though I have spent my whole life missing opportunities – both to enjoy life experiences for myself and with those I love, and also to be able to share God’s love with those around me who don’t yet know it for themselves – because of a lack of confidence. I have always felt not good enough. It’s not like there is a particular sin that I feel unforgiven of – it’s more that I just don’t feel good enough – and I’ve been so afraid to fail that I haven’t been willing to even take a shot! I am so grateful that God is working this out of me!! He is teaching me that it’s not about just who I am – but who I am in Him!! He is giving me identity. It’s a process – but one I am happy to be undergoing. Renee – I am so thankful for you sharing your own experiences with us. It gives me so much hope and excitement as to where I can go.

I just recently started working for my church while homeschooling one of my four children (and to top it off I’m approaching the half century mark). The old feelings of not good enough, why did it take me so long to get started serving the Lord, should I be serving, I can’t do any of this very well, not feeling liked/loved…. feelings that were in my past resurfacing to unglue me. Thus, I struggle with confidence in Christ. I councel my children and friends to hang in there, yet struggle to do that myself. I’ve started to go through “A Confident Heart” and finding it life changing – knowing that I have to change, and I am (slowly). Having the devotional to go along with the Confident Heart book would be….. great. It would be like a booster shot to help ward off insecurity.

I would like to win this Devotional because I am an Advanced Unit Leader of 100 Avon Reps. Who look to me for guidance. I try to steer them to God’s way not my way. I open our meetings with prayer giving Him praise ,and asking for guidance to people who need lifestyle changes and who will help others achieve lifestyle changes both, spiritually and financially. I would love to win the devotional because I am currently doing the OBS and have found inspiration through it.
