Prayers to Pamper Your Soul

My sweet friend Julie Gillies is here to share with us the story behind her new and beautiful devotional book “Prayers for a Woman’s Soul.” It’s resting on my bedside table and God’s using Julie to remind me how important it is to pamper my soul with prayers. Julie and our wonderful friends at Harvest House Publishers are giving away two copies of her book here today.

I didn’t start praying for myself because I was holy or wise. I started because I was desperate.

My marriage often felt like an emotional torture chamber. Negative and critical thoughts consistently bombarded my mind. And my emotions felt as shattered as a water goblet dropped on a cement driveway.

The hardest part was I felt stuck. It seemed like nothing was ever going to change, and I felt myself longing to give up on the inside. And that is when I sensed God nudging me to start praying for myself—regularly. Daily. I sensed that if I didn’t heed that holy nudge, I wasn’t going to make it.

So I began to pray for myself.

Initially the only uninterrupted time I could find to pray for myself was in the shower, so I prayed while I scrubbed, emerging to face each day with clean skin and an equipped heart.

That was the beginning of my soul-transforming prayer journey.

The truth is there are a lot of women facing incredibly hard circumstances right now. There are women enduring miserable marriages, women whose hearts still reverberate with pain from the past, and women who are in stressful situations that make them want to give up. Maybe you’re one of them.

Or maybe you simply have a sagging plate and a really long prayer list. Perhaps life is good for you, but both your to-do list and your prayer list are as long as your arm.

Or maybe, like most women I know, you’re a nurturer and a caretaker, a front-burner prayer woman who prays for whatever is boiling over at the moment—and there is always something boiling over—but you neglect to pray for yourself.

It’s counter-intuitive, praying for ourselves. I mean, we’re hard wired to help others—and that’s good. But God never intended for us to help others to our own detriment. He never intended for us to pray for our spouses, our kids, sick pets, our friends,  and world events but not to take time to pray for ourselves.

Amazing things happen when we pray. I started praying out of sheer desperation, and God moved. He not only transformed my mind and healed my emotions, He transformed my marriage. I truly believe in the message of Prayers For a Woman’s Soul: that praying—for ourselves—is absolutely essential. Without it, we will languish. Equipped through prayer, we can soar through our days. As we take time to pray for ourselves, we partner with God and can watch in amazement as He moves and brings hope, healing, and transformation to our lives.

  1. Lord, your word says that if I lack wisdom, all I need to do is ask You and You will give it to me. God, I need wisdom today about some burdens that are weighing me down and big decisions I need to make. Please give Your insight into my situation and help me respond and not react no matter how tired I am or how tender my emotions feel. I walk to walk in Your ways, in Your truth, in Your peace and in the center of Your purpose for my life. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

    • Yolanda Groeneweg says:

Lord, thank you for bringing ministries such as Renee’s and Proverbs 31 to remind me that I am indeed not alone with my struggles and fears. Thank you sending these honest and real women into my life. I need your strength, peace and wisdom to make the best choices through You. I am scared, and I am weak. There are many medical tests in my horizon. But you promise that you will be my strong tower, and my comfort. Help me to stay focused on You for your promises of Peace in whatever the circumstances.
      Thanks you Jesus.

    • Pamela Blankenship says:

      Heavenly Father:
Sometimes the only words that I can seem to muster are “help me!” Thank you that the Holy Spirit intercedes for me during these times – You know what I feel and what I need long before I do and I pray that You would help me to see You working in my life even while I feel trapped in the depths of despair, depression and hopelessness – I know that this world is not my home and when everything within me screams that this is all there is, You remind me that You are my Light and Hope and that I am never alone or trapped – that this too shall pass; joy comes in the morning! There will be an end to all my suffering and pain and depression – I love You and thank You for saving me from myself and giving me the only Hope that has the power to save. In Jesus’ precious and Holy name – Amen!

      • Amy McIntire says:

This is how I have been feeling also. It has been very hard to ‘control’ my anxiety..I have battled with it for many, many years. I pray a lot to ask for the Lord’s help. Sometimes I feel like I am never heard, but I know from some things that I see that do occur in my life that he does. I know this is a LONG process.

        • I am praying for God to see me through my struggle with anxiety and worry that keep me from being the person I need to be for my family. Lord give me the strength to let go and give to you my
worry just for today and replace it with some measure of peace and joy. I have struggled many years
and been a prisoner of always feeing anxious, overwhelmed, and unworthy of hapiness having so many challenges to over come the past few years. Please deliver me from the guilt and burden of constant anxiety and worry. I pray for rmany women who are stuggling with the same issues of trying to do everything for everyone for acceptance… never feeling it is good or sufficient enough. I know God loves me a broken, tired sinner just as I am…sometimes it is hard to remember this.
          Blessings to all!!

    • Dear Lord, let this be the way ahead for me. Without You I’m nothing but “I can do all things in You who gives me strength.” Make me the person I am meant to be in Jesus name I pray.

    • Renee, your words are always so pure; from the heart; real – and relate able! Been goin thru a tough spot in life; I know God; I know His word, and stand on it; but there are days – oh my my! If it weren’t for knowing His grace and love in my life, I would be a terribly lost soul;
      With Him all things are possible; I can lean on him in all situations – and taste and see that He is IS IS good! HIs promises are yes and AMEN – and that I hold onto;

Thank you for sharing! It encouraged me today! 🙂

    • Dear Lord, remind me daily to help me empty me of myself and fill me with you! Phil 4:13 has always been what I fall to and you are always there to comfort me and give me gifts of your smiles on me throughout the day. Thank you Jesus!

    • Treva Kuyper says:

Dear Lord, thank you for saving me. Thank you that I am not alone in this life….that you love me inspite of me. Lord help me to see myself the way that you do……to silence the critic that lives in my mind constantly telling me where I am lacking. Your word says in Romans 8:28 that YOU work ALL THINGS together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose! Help me to remember that even in my weaknesses….You are working them all together for the GOOD!! I don’t want to fear failure or weakness….because in my weakness YOU are strong! Lord, I want to be the woman YOU created me to be…..full of strength, power, compassion, love, kindness, wisdom, and everything else that is of You. I love you Lord!!!! Praising you for who you are in me. 🙂 Amen!

    • Lori Martin says:

Lord Please be with me today through my hard times i am having and with others too. I love you Lord

    • It’s Monday and I’m tired. The whole week is ahead of me but I am still in last week wth the broken cars and sick people and unfinished everything.
And grumpy. And quick to anger.
I need you Lord to lift me out of this place.

    • Lord, I praise You, because your lovingkindness and faithfulness is so good. You are so gentle with me, especially when I have struggled to follow the path of righteousness. Please forgive my wandering heart. Thank you, Lord. And thank you for my new job. You know how I am operating on the learning curve; therefore there are more opportunities for my inadequacies to surface; however these are also opportunities for you to prove your faithfulness. I know that each situation my inadequacy presents me with a choice: deep dependence on you (faith) or deep despair (fear). Help me choose dependence (faith). Thank you that your perfect love casts out all fear. I want to love you not only in word, but in deed. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  2. Pat Lansdown says:

Dear Lord, you know how this hits home for me. Lord, you know how desperate I am and how much I want to receive your blessings of peace, healing and transformation. I ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen!

  3. Lord Thank You for the wisdom that is ours. In your name I pray, Amen.

  10. Lord,

As I read in Your Word today that You put a large stone on the road to Mt Zion, a stone I cannot get around and that stone is You. Lord, I have watched you work miracles, and I have been the recipient of many of those blessings! Thank you! It is hard to pray for myself, but you, Lord, know my heart. I pray for healing in my situation and peace from the guilt that I feel, some of it warranted, some not. I pray, too, for a return of closeness to you, Lord, because I feel that I have drifted away much too far. I pray for new understanding and wisdom, Lord, that I may glorify you in all that I do. 44. Dear Lord,
I just want to thank you for waking me up again this morning to my beautiful baby boy. Lord you know my situation with everything that is going on in my life right now. I know you are teaching me something and even though it’s the hardest thing I have ever went through I know there is a reason and you have a plan for me and my son. I also know you have used this situation with me to draw me closer to you and be in the word more than ever. I just ask you to give me patience and faith in you that I know you know what is best for me and my son. Lord I ask to help me to strive to be the best mom I can be and to help me get my education to better myself and my son’s life. I ask you that I will be able to find a babysitter that I can trust for my son so that I can work full time to be able to provide a home for us. I also ask you to take this nasty cold away from me and my son that we have recently gotten. I know one day that there with be no more pain, suffering, or sickness just rejoicing with you in Heaven! In Jesus name I pray Amen.

  45. Lord, help me! Please transform my family. I desperately need you to show me what to do for my three beautiful girls.

  46. Dear Lord, Calm my fear, allow me to see the road you want me to travel, clearly, through Your eyes, and Your soul. Help me to have the strength I need to continue to support those in my life that challenge me every day. Amen

  47. Heavenly Father, sometimes, well alot of times, I do not even have the words to pray. But Lord you know what is in my heart. Help me to draw close to You, and to feel your peace. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

  48. Dear Lord,
I come to you this morning with the two things you try to remind me of every new day: “For I know the plans I have for you,”(Jer. 29:11) and the song that plays over and over in my head, “What we Gonna Do Today?” But Lord, you have had me in this season for awhile(a similar one from 25 years ago) where I ‘feel’ forgotten by You at times. I look back at the miracles/blessings You have poured on me, my family, friends in our church. I praise you for that! But you know my struggles…I keep laying strongholds down at the cross, only to pick them back up again. Please help me to leave them there and not submit to the enemy’s attacks on my weaknesses. I’m trying to be patient, serve others as you gave me that gift, be still & listen; but Lord, my heart is weary and my mind is battling thoughts that aren’t from you. Menopause and teenage children aren’t a good mix either, but I trust you know what you are doing there too. Give me the strength to totally surrender my ALL, not leaving one past mistake, unrealistic expectation of myself/others, or discouraging words from ‘friends’ to dangle over me and lose focus on the love you have for me. Give me the courage to do Your unimagineable with the life you gave me; not the life I think I should have. In your precious name I pray Lord, Amen.

  49. Diane Fetter says:

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise you for you are a faithful, all Knowing and in control of all things. I thank-you for my salvation, your plan for eternal life and your Holy word that you gave to us to read and to guide us. You know my heart Lord, I desire to walk in your will daily. Please help me to listen for your small quiet voice to speak to my heart. I’m seeking you for wisdom and guidance as to where you want to use me. Help me to act when you call me to share your love with others. Thank-you Lord for the positive steps we have taken in our marriage, just because you have helped me to surrender myself and to allow you to work out bitterness in my life. You are an amazing God, you answer prayers daily. I will wait for you to speak before I act. I love you and I love being your feet and hands. Amen

  50. Father, allow me to gaurd my words and use them wisely. Guide my heart and emotions in the right direction. Allow every word and action that comes from me first come through You. In Jesus name, Amen.

  51. Lord, You know my struggle to feel worth your time. Please let me feel that I am special to You.

  52. Dear Lord,
Thank you for loving me the way that I am. Please help me to remember that I need you each and every day. Help me to remember that I am not supposed to be able to handle everything on my own. And help me to remember that I need to take care of myself first so that I will be better at being able to serve you and taking care of the loved ones in my life. I am so grateful for your presence in my life – please help me to recognize it more and more.

  53. Dear Father God,
As you know my heart, and my journey in seeking You and drawing close, I lift up myself to you right now. Hold me tight as you know I tend to give in or pull away at times. I pray that I stay on the straight and narrow path. Please fill me with the fruits of the Spirit. My desire is following my Creator and my Savior, I pray I don’t let You down. Please guide me and give me the wisdom and tools I need to persevere. Thank you Lord for Your everlasting love! In Jesus Name I pray!! Donna

  54. Robin Ratcliff says:

Lord I am so glad I don’t believe in consequence but in the predestination of your will for my life. At this.
point in my life I could write these same words. I feel hopeless in my ability to fix the mess that is my life but I am encouraged that at this lowest point you will be my strength and produce a fantastic testimony for your glory. Remove the anger that consumes me and controls my every move and give me your love and compassion. I am the end of me show me you. In Jesus name. My sisters in Christ pray for me as I begin this journey of surrender.

  55. Sarah Miller says:

    Dear Lord,

It is sometimes easier to pray for the needs of others sincerely than it is to bring thoughts of ourselves to you. Often it feels like we are just bringing a shopping list. But I know you care and you want to hear and I just pray that you will give me strength to get through things, wisdom to make right decisions and patience in waiting for your answers. I pray this in Your name, Amen.

  56. Lord, You know the anchor that weighs on my soul and how I long for intimacy with You. Help me to put You first in my life so my priorities are in the right place. Remove the mindless clutter and meaningless concerns on my heart and show me what is truly important. Help me to be a good steward of the hours you have given me today so at the end of the day when my head hits the pillow I will not be exhausted and worn out, but at peace knowing that You had ordained my steps and are saying, “welldone my good and faithful servant.”

  57. Lord God, She’s right. Why do I feel guilty when I pray for myself? I know that you care for me and want what’s best for me but I haven’t been willing to turn everything over to you. There are times when I pour my heart out to you in a selfish way but I won’t let you have the burdens that I carry. I worry more about my kids and how to help them than I do for myself to the point where I can’t even help them. Help me to change this. Help me to understand how you can take the day to day problems and give me more peace. Help me to turn the problems that are too big over to you and let you show others how to become more God sufficient rather than “mom” sufficient. For you to do this would take a heavy load off of me that I seem to want to carry all the time. Thank you for your never ending love. I know with you I have hope. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  58. Michele Lucas says:

Lord I ask you to heal my body, my mind and my heart. Give me wisdom to teach my son diligently, mother my adult son well, and love my husband with my whole heart.

  59. Jill Kuiper says:

Dear Gracious and Heavenly Father, you know just what I need when I need it. I am so often focused on others and helping them, giving until I have nothing else to give. I neglect myself. I neglect my time with you. Reading this email today is Your friendly reminder to take time for myself. I know that the time I have taken from volunteering myself and spreading myself too thin is what You desire for me. It is okay to focus on me. I pray for You to continue to point me in the direction You would have me go. Put me where I will flourish for you. Thank you Lord for loving me unconditionally! Help me to share that love with others.
In Your Precious Son’s Name, Amen.

  60. Loving Father, thank you again for your faithfulness to me through my years of being your child. You know that I often feel discouraged, distracted, concerned about many events and the people caught in problems. Please help me to remember your constant Presence in my life through the Lord JESUS’s gifts of grace abundantly given to me daily. Open, by Your Holy Spirit, my eyes to see Jesus, ever beside me. Amen

  64. Dear Lord, You know how much I love to pray for others but rarely do I pray for myself. Help me to know that it is good to pray for myself and not a selfish act. I fall short sometimes Lord, but I am so thankful that you are there to pick me up and brush me off and set me on my feet again. Thank you for your love, grace and mercy you bless me with daily God! I love you Lord! Amen

  73. Dear Lord,

I know you know me better than I know me. Thank you for loving me, being with me always, and continuing to guide me. Help me learn to take time to pray for myself without guilt, so that I can better serve you and those around me. Thank you for continuing to teach me more & more about myself each day; for your forgiveness after a failed marriage; for your strength to raise three wonderful children you’ve blessed me with; for your mercy through a miserable relationship; and for your peace, sweet Jesus, to keep a smile on my face & in my heart because I know that having you as Lord in & over my life means all is & will be well. You know me better than I know myself.. and I am grateful that you show mercy & grace everyday. I pray that your Holy Spirit would guide me in Truth and set me free to love myself as you love me, giving me the freedom to love others more like you do.

  75. Father

I Thank You that I can approach your throne room with boldness and ask anything. Father as always your timing is perfect and you are constantly teaching me to be that child in your arms and to walk in perfect peace. I confess I often let the worries of this world overwhelm my soul and I allow chaos to creep into my life and overtake my spirit choaking out your word. I also confess that I pray for the good of others and often forget that you are here for me. Help me father to lay my burdens down spoken and unspoken for healing of matters if the heart. I confess that I am weary and feeling hopeless but am reminded that my hope is in you and i trust you will renew my spirit.

  76. Crystal Hall says:

    Dear Heavenly Father,
You know the burdens on my heart, for our church, my friends and family and the situations of each. Please give me wisdom and discernment to handle each of these troubles with love and grace. Help me to put aside my hurts and forgive as You do, Father. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  77. Dear Lord be with me today as I face this issue in my life. Lord I pray you will give me the words and wisdom I need to help the other party see you through this situation. In Jesus name Amen.

  78. Lord, thank you for loving me even when I felt so alone and didn’t feel worthy. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for your patience and not giving up on me. I come to you with all my fears, worries, and concerns because you love me and want the best for me. Please use me for your glory.

  79. Lord, your word says that if I lack wisdom, all I need to do is ask You and You will give it to me.
Lord, I’ve been frustrated and depressed about situations with my job & my son- I know this isn’t your will. I pray for your wisdom & guidance in my day- guide my thoughts, my words & my steps today. I ask for your peace about my job, that I am making a difference.
Lord I ask for healing of my heart about my mom- you know the situation & hurt leading up to her death last year- I have been angry & I ask forgiveness and peace about it. With my anger- have I even grieved? Please guide me thru that for I can’t do it alone.
Thank you for being my loving father that I can run to- need you in my every moment- especially your grace & guidance. Amen

  80. My prayer is to overcome a lifetime of shame because of circumstances I did not choose. I want to have purpose and confidense in who I am in Christ.

This day. Thank you for wisdom in every area of my life. Thank you
For helping me to be a blessing to everyone I come in contact with.

    In your name

  82. Dear Lord,
Help me today to deal with the feelings of inadequacy and despair that are never far away. Help me to remember You are there to help me when I feel the weakest and will never leave me. You have made me and know me and know what I need to get through this day. I play Lord that you will fill me with your peace and your strength. I can’t do it on my own.
    Thank you Lord!

  83. Lord you know my heart, you know what I feel, and what’s on my mind, all before I do. You know where I’ve been, and can see where I’m going before I get there. So, I ask that you would guild my heart, my mind, and my actions. Lord when I begin to go in a direction you know isn’t good for me please gently lead me into the direction you know is bet for me to go. Open doors you want opened, fling them open loud and clear. Close doors where you don’t want me, slam them shut. I see where I’ve been, I see where I am, I don’t know where you’ll lead me. But, please help me to trust you. To know you love me and won’t hurt, abandon or let me down. Help me to see your heart for me. Help me to know I’m loved and believe it in my heart, and that I don’t have to jump through special hoops or change to be accepted and loved by you. Help me to love myself. I thank you that you can transform me, and that you can renew me. Take me from where I am to where you want me in every part of my life. Touch my heart, and my mind, bring healing, peace and strength in Jesus name amen.

  84. Lord, Your Word says that You told Moses Your countenance would be with him and the Isrealites and lead them, and that Moses requested that you not send them out in any direction that You have not led. I pray today asking that you keep me in the path that You are leading me, in my actions, words and even thoughts. If there is someone with whom I need to deal today, please put them right in the middle of Your path for me, and if someone is there whom I do not need to interact, please move them away. Lord, I know You do not have to let me see you working in my life, and I am especially blessed when You do. Thank You for the resources, messages and buddy straps that you have put into my life and for opening my eyes to see them. Lord, your Word says that You are strength in my weakness and all I have to do is rest in your strength. Please give me the resolve to do just that, and not try to run things myself. Thankfully and humbly, in Jesus’ name, Amen

  85. Deanna Myers says:

Today I really needed to read this, after a horrible beginning to the week it just seemed to get worse. I was at the point of just throwing in the towel, but after reading this I realize that while I pray faithfully for others I never pray for myself. I guess I just trust others who say they are praying for are doing just that. Thaks for reminding me that i need to pray for me since I know all that is going on with me. Thank you so much for this encouragment and reminder. God Bless you in all that you do in Women’s ministry. Thank you

  86. Lord please spark the fire in my soul. I pray your Holy Spirit fills me with greater desire. Please give me a willing spirit that draws me closer to you, to your footstool so that I hear the words that give life to my soul & move me to live out your plans for me. I love you. In Jesus’ name I prau, Amen

  87. Lord, I pray that you will be with my husband and I as we make a major move in our life and our careers. This is a decision that I believe through prayer that you have led us to do. Let me never forget “more of you and less of me”. Amen

  88. Lord, You are my ever present help in time of trouble.

  89. Dear Father,

I don’t really know where to begin so I will start with I need you to be the center of my life. Lord I trust and believe in you. I know through your grace you have carried me through so many things. (loss, grief, pain in by body from illness the list goes on) Please help me not to try to control the things around me. I know you are in control and know the final outcome. I need you Lord to show me what you want me to do instead of me going and doing things because I feel they are broken. Help me Lord. I feel like I am suffocating with no air to breathe. I don’t want to live like this please cleanse my heart and my mind see my illness affexts my brain. I love you Lord thank you for all you done for me. Use me for your glory my Lord. In Jesus precious name……AMEN

    Your Daughter

  90. Dear Jesus, Thank you for never leaving me for always being with me in everything that happens in each day. Lord, I am so grateful for your love and compassion. I pray now for the wisdom I need in the things that are going on in my life and in the lives of the people I love. Father, I know — more each day — that only You can restore and heal the brokenness. I pray for the strength to continue to seek you in every piece of these things, at every turn, in all times of the day and in the throes of every emotion that rolls through me. I pray, Lord God, that you will keep your thoughts in my mind, that you will empower me to fight from a position of victory, not defeat. Remind me that you have already won every victory over trauma, lack, hurt and all of the other feelings that come along with those things. I pray for continued peace as I walk through these things and I ask that my joy in you may be full. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.

  91. Dear Lord, as I move into the busy part of my day, help me to stay focused. Give me the discipline I need in order to do all that you give me to do today. Give me the patience to teach my children well, the strength to care for our home, the attentiveness to love my husband fully. I know I can’t do it without you. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

  92. Karen Loper says:

Lord, I come to you this morning broken in what feels like every way. When I am weak I ask that you fulfill me with your strength, when I am anxious and worried I ask that you fulfill me with your peace, when I am alone and feeling worthless I ask that you fulfill me with your love, when I am uncertain and afraid I ask that you would fulfill me with your hope and courage, when I am lost please be my light, when I am sick please be my healing. Thank you Lord for being all the things I am not, Thank you Lord for loving me as only you can and will through everything, Thank you Lord for forgiving me and saving me each new day. In your sweet and precious name Lord Jesus, Amen

  93. Dear Father, I come to you this morning asking for a humble heart and boldness in doing your will in my life. Point me in the direction I need to go, uplift me and forgive me for my frailties. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I know I’m exactly where you want me to be, and give me the strength to do Your will, not mine. I only want what you want for me. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

  94. Lord – help me as I struggle to believe in myself and my abilities. This struggle prevents me from being the person you intend me to be, as well as the wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend I want to be. I want to have joy In life and share that with others, not the clouds and darkness that surround me now. Please Lord be with me, fill me love and peace and guide me to the right path.

  95. Thank you! I feel like the same things happen to me over and over again. I know I should know God is always with me, but I give him my problems and then take them back. He is the King!!

  96. Lord, I want to thank you for your son Jesus.
Thank you for hearing my cry, and responding quickly. Thank you for nudging me to read my e-mail today. You know my behind st the beginning.I thank you for loving me to tell me that “Now” is the time for me to pamper my soul, take a little time to pray for me. Wow! I can admit what you already knew, how I thought selfish to think of me when talking to you. I felt you know the desires of my heart, and desired me to pray for others instead. Thank you for this immediately revelation,I must be included. Amen..#tears of joy. 😉

  97. Dear Lord,

I feel so empty. I want to fill my heart with you and your words, but feel lost and confused. My husband and I have been working on our marriage and relationship – diligently at first, when we faced a huge mountain in our marriage – but lately our efforts have not been intentional. Please help me to be intentional about working on my marriage. Help me to be a better mother. My teenage daughter is struggling with life, school, self-esteem. I want to help her, but she will not open up to me. Please help me to love her, guide her and be a good example for her. Lord, please heal my wounded heart. Help me to know your love, so I can share it with others.

  98. I rambled while in the shower this morning (what a great idea, btw). I think I said something along these lines:

God, please help me. I’m really struggling right now and just don’t feel “right” in my own skin. Help me see your blessings and embrace the love of others instead of pushing it away. Why am I doing that, God? Help me.

  99. Father God, please give me the strength and courage to be a godly friend and mother to those around me who are hurting. Please fill me so I can pour out your love and mercy to them. Amen.

  100. Dear Lord, thank you for these encouraging words from Julie and Renee today. You know that I needed to hear them this morning. Last night the only words that came to me were: ‘Jesus, please help me.’ I repeated this over and over until I fell back to sleep. I pray for you direction and your peace as I face a marriage that is at a difficult point. Please lead me and I will follow. I ask this in Jesus’ name – Amen.

  101. Lord, help me to be still so I can hear your voice.

  102. Dear Lord, you have taken me on a journey these last few years, filled with pain, struggle and tears, but I wouldn’t trade any of it becuase of the hope I have in you and what you have promised for me. You continue to test me and give me opportunities to seek you and I continue to thank you for that. In my daily attempt to do everything, to be perfect, and to be everything for everyone, help me to remember not to forget about taking care of myself. Help me to remember that time with you, Lord, is what I need to fill myself up every day so that you can live through me.

  103. Lord teach me to take the time to pray for myself.

  104. Father, I feel trapped. It seems that my whole world is caving in on me. I KNOW that you love me but I don’t know if I can stand much more! How can I be strong for my family when I am soooo depleted within? We are experiencing attacks on every front…life-threatening health issues, financial, wayward teens. Father, give me wisdom. Restore your joy back into our lives, back into my heart. Wipe away the tears that I cry in secret. Despite my moments of despair, I know that you are working all things for my good. Thank your your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    • Vanessa Wynn says:

God promises that His grace and mercies are sufficient. Even when the walls are caving in. Even when you owe more than you make. Even when your children are rebelious to the way they should go. I’ve been in your shoes and I can tell you that God is faithful in every situation. His promises DO NOT FAIL! He will see you through every hard moment. One moment at a time. And bring you to a place of renewed strength, renewed hope. Praise Him through these storms of life. (Casting Crowns). He is with you always. Even to the end of the Earth. He will be your strength when you are weak. He is your provider. He is your healer. He promises that when we train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old, he will not depart from it. Praying with you, my beautiful sister in Christ, that You see Him move mightly in all of these issues that are weighing you down.

      Love in Christ, Vanessa

  105. Thank you for telling me I can do this. It has brought tears to my eyes. I am needing to take care of myself so much – but am to busy. I copied your prayer because it speaks to my needs right now.

  106. Vanessa Wynn says:

Jesus, I need you. Desparately and always, I need you. Hold me up. Make me strong. Mold me into the woman, the mother, the wife, the friend, the daughter that you need me to be. Give me open eyes to see as you see. Help me to always open my heart to the needs you need me to meet. You promise me that when I am weak, you make me strong. You promise me that you will carry my burdens. You promise you are with me always. Thank you, Lord. Thank you that I don’t have to do this alone. Thank you for your faithfulness, your promises, you everlasting, unchanging love. For loving me – just as you created me – and making me into the person you need me to be in order to accomplish what you call me to.

In your precious name, Jesus. Amen.

  107. Lord your Word reminds me to Cast all my Cares on You and it also reminds me that You will give me the desires of my heart. My true hearts desire is to have joy unspeakable. Sometimes I feel that I lack joy in my life not because I am unhappy but because I have lost that feeling of true joy that only comes from You. Help me today to find your joy in the little things of life. Help me to take time to remember what it is to have that unspeakable joy. I want to find joy in all of my daily chores and daily responsiblities so that others will see that joy that only comes from you and that I can be a blessing to someone today.

Thank you for answering my prayers and for making me a blessing to someone today. In your precious and holy name. Amen

  108. Heavenly Father, thank you for these wonderful women who minister to and bless so many. Their words guiding us directly to You have soothed my soul and heart many times. I’ve been to many of the places they have in their lives and I thank You every day for the healing You have blessed me with. I am encouraged to hear that I should pray for myself and want to share that with other women who are weary in their lives. Thank you for the restoration you offer through Your Son, Jesus. Help me to minister to those around me like these beautiful ladies minister to me. Help me to Pray It Forward. In Your name I give thanks.

  109. Dear Jesus…. I come before your presence this morning…seeking your presence… Lord empty me of me… Fill me with your spirit… Align my thoughts today… Give me wisdom and direction…. Order my steps that I may follow you and do your will and fulfill my purpose… Let me have eyes to see the goodness you have before me… Let me surrender control of all that’s weighing me down… Change my worry to trust…. Give me courage to crush my doubts.. Increase my faith so that I may please you… Oh Lord I do believe you keep your promises and I claim them for myself today…. I know you will provide and you will never leave me nor forsake me… Now help me to remember this throughout the day… I thank you Jesus for your love, your mercy and your grace!!! Amen!!

  110. Dear Jesus,
please continue to help me to deal with anger appropriately. You know my struggles with this issue.

  111. Dear God, my Father,
I need you today. I need your grace, mercy, forgiveness. I need your ever-present help in my time of need. Thank you for showing me every day that your love never fails. Help me to walk in that truth today, Lord, and keep my eyes focused on you.

  112. Lauren Jolly says:

Thank you, Julie & Renee! This looks like a fabulous devotional. I’m continually blessed by P31 and find it such an encouraging gift. This new devotional seems so timely for me. I need help learning how to pray for myself so that God can enable me to do more for his glory. It’s such second nature for me to pray for others but I really struggle asking for prayer for myself when I’m overwhelmed, discouraged or just need to know he sees me right where I am 🙂 Please help me to stop shouldering the weight of my responsibilities alone and hear Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  113. I look forward to diving deep into this book. I am just finishing another devotional book and was looking for anotherone to start and here it is. What timing. and, yes I do need it:)

God, allow me to forgive myself for past mistakes, to let them go and not continue to recall them, so that I may deppen my relationship with you. In your Son’s name, Amen.

  114. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for all that you’ve done for me, and all that you’ve given me. I pray that you will be with me as I go through my day. Lord, please place your guiding hand upon me, that I may be the mother, the sister, the co-worker, the employee, the friend, but above all, the Christian that you want me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  115. Jessica Budd says:

Lord, thank you for Renee’s post today. Lord I am so nervous and scared about my wedding tomorrow. What if I mess this marriage up? What if he ends up hating me years down the road? What if I break his heart? What if, what if, what if? I know Lord that all of these doubts are a result of my first marriage and that you have brought me to David for your glory. I KNOW that Lord but I am still SO scared. Please give me peace today. Hold me Lord and remind me that you work all things together for good to them that love you.

    In Jesus name

    • Jessica, I know this was your private prayer to the Lord, and I don’t mean to butt in. i just want to encourage you – my daughter is getting married soon, and she has these same fears weighing on her heart. You WON’T mess this up…..all things happen for a reason. You are where you are today because of things that have happened in your past, but these things brought you to your fiancee. Trust in the Lord, and have peace in knowing that He will guide you and your new husband with your loving hearts. Again, I’m sorry for intruding, but I pray that tomorrow will be a wonderful wedding day, full of peace and love – love for each other, and love for the Lord. God bless you!

  116. Lord, you know my heart, my worries. Most of the time i come to you in prayer, i tend to come along with other people’s burden that i am left with few space for mine. You said the spirit make intercession on my behalf, give ear to the silent groaning of my heart – the burdens in my heart and speedily come to my aid. Thank you for the grace and hope that has kept me going. Let the peace you alone can give flood my heart and take away every worries i have presently.

  117. Heavenly Father,
Thank you in working through these other wise women to share Your intent for my life. Forgive me father when I neglect myself and relationship with you. Praying for others is important but I also need the communication with you to hear and know your will for my life in just today. Thank you for not giving up on me. Please work on my heart and attitude today Lord that I may become more of who you want me to be and less of who I think I should be. Help me to become the wife you are calling me to be. May I be one to bring healing, love and peace back into my marriage Father. Forgive me where I have failed and hurt one I love so dearly and desire to reconcile with. I surrender my heart and marriage to you.
    In Jesus Name, Amen

  118. Dianne Hall says:

    Heavenly father,
Thank you for this amazing privilege to have your ear and your heart’s attention. I need you today. My soul is weary, my heart is anxious, my body is worn out. I need to hear you and see you today. I need to know that you really do know what is going on with my baby boy and that you will provide everything I need to be the mama he needs right now. God I need your strength and encouragement. I need your power to well up on the inside and wash over me and my circumstance. God even in the midst of all of this, I trust you and know that at just the right time you will move, you will answer my call, you will come to my rescue!!

  123. Lord, I love you and I thank you for loving me. Continue to hold me and hold me into the woman You will me to be. Help me see the things in my life that are a hinderance to Your guidance. Let the Holy Spirit pour into all those dark recesses and fill them with Your light. I love You. I need You. Help remove me in order to improve me. In Jesus’s Holy name, Amen.

  124. Dear Lord,
You are my help, my fortress, and my refuge. Help me to overcome my sins of laziness. Lord, I want to be intentional with my time and not waste anymore of it on unimportant things. Help me to spend my time in ways that are pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  125. Lord, I thank you for this ministry through Proverbs 31 and how it has blessed and encouraged me. So many times I feel that no one has the hardship and the heartache that I go through and yet every day there is some verse or some devotion that shows me “Look, Janet…you’re not alone on this journey.” Forgive me for the times that I doubt your presence in my life. Renew your spirit in me and direct my path. You know my heart and my struggle, Lord. I pray for your guidance in finding my “place” in your ministry. Thank you for loving me when I am so unworthy. Amen.

  126. Thank you father for this message today. It spoke to me as you do when I really need it. Father, today I ask for your wisdon, Your guidance and Your continued strength as I feel I have so little left. Father, please be with me today as I have so many things on my mind and my heart literally hurts and needs your healing. Please be with every woman here and father, I thank you for places like this where we can share and see we aren’t alone. In Jesus name, Amen.

  127. I am learning what a difference it can make in my marriage to pray over my husband. Thank you for also
showing me how important it is to pray over myself. I look forward to getting your book.

  128. Dear Heavenly Father, Please help me see Your plan for my life. I have a bad attitude because I feel my life and job have no purpose. I have a bad attitude because I feel my gifts and talents aren’t being used. I have a bad attitude because I feel my husband is pursuing his dream while I’m stuck paying the bills. I forget to see that Your Hand is in everything. I forget that You put me here. I forget that You are molding me into the person that You want me to be. Lord, help me see You in all things. Help me to serve You and others in my path – today!

  129. Dear Father:

I ask for patience and grace as I live out this single season in my life. I pray for my future husband and that you work to prepare both of us for a relationship with each other. Help us forgive and heal from hurts from past partners and families. Help me be wise, strong, and gracious as I finish out the week at work. Help me work to keep watch over my mouth and speak gracious, uplifting words to friends, families and coworkers. Help me walk closer with you. In your precious name, Lord, Amen.

  130. Lesli Arrington says:

Thank you, Lord, that you created me for a purpose. I
Realize that sometimes I get so focused on others
That I forget to take care of myself like I should.
Please encourage all of us to do what your word says,
To seek your kingdom and your righteousness first.
We praise you for all you are doing & all we have
Been created to do THROUGH you. We love you!!

  131. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the wisdom of the ladies that have posted. It makes me realize that I am not alone in my struggles and fears. 132. Lesly Verbeten says:

Lord Jesus, you know that my marriage is in ruins right now, and I am tired. But I know you are holding me in Your hands. You are revealing to my heart, not just my mind, that you love ME, personally. I thank you so much for that. I don’t have a good daddy image to take guidance from. Please help me to see you as daddy. Please help me to release my marriage and husband and children and job to You, God, knowing that you have a better plan for me than what I thought life had to be. I was stuck in numbness for so long God. Awaken my soul. Be the fire in me. Make me the worshipping warrior princess that I feel you anointed me to be. Make me a warrior for you. I leave my life in Your hands. I trust you God. Please renew me daily.

  133. Dear Jesus,
I so needed to read this today. I feel so tired I am crabby. Please revive me today.

  134. Father God, I thank you for loving me and carrying me through these days when I can barely keep moving forward. Help me to put aside the seemingly impossible situations and the time I dwell on them. Replace those thoughts with your joy, confidence and peace as I move through the day. I want desperately to be where you want me to be and doing what you have called me to do. Help me to be confident that that is where I am.

  135. Lord,
ThankYou for not letting up on me. Te past few days/weeks, I’ve been struggling with trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I have all these dreams inside, but I don’t know where to begin. Waiting was so uncomfortable, so decided to try to take matters into my own hands and help You along. Needless to say, that only made things worse…way worse. This morning, I was reminded that You are the one who orders my steps. I don’t want my life to be average, Lord. I don’t know all the details, but I surrender everything to You…my dreams, the process, everything. Being out of control is scary, but doing things on my own wihout You, is even more scary. Forgive me for not trusting Your timing. Forgive me for not taking better care of myself so that I could be equipped to take better care of others. Thank You for never leaving me and for not treating me the way that I treat You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  136. Dear Lord,
I come to you with a heavy heart. You know the struggles I’m facing in my marriage and in my faith. Lord, I pray that I can develope a stronger more intimate relationship with you and strengthen my faith to completely trust you. I pray that the things I know in my head to be true would sink deep into my heart. I pray that no matter what trials I go through in my marriage or in my life that I can know in my heart that you are with me, you love me and have a plan for me. Help me focus solely on you and not on my circumstances and my feelings. Thank you Lord. In Jesus’ name Amen.

  137. Karen in PA says:

Lord God, Please bless me and give me wisdom and courage as I meet with my church council this weekend. My only desire is to help them in the budgeting process, to see Your will done, Father, that the decisions made will build Your kingdom. Lord please help me to love one another, please open me up to be more outgoing, to approach others to love them. Please help me to show mercy and not judgement. Please take judgement out of me, Lord. Thank you Jesus, Thank you Father, I love you Amen

  138. Lord, I thank you for this post today. I often feel guilty for praying for myself , like I’m being selfish. I pray that you will help me overcome this and take time for myself. I pray that you will help me in my marriage and the decisions that need to be made. It is going to be a time of change, for the good, but change nonetheless. I pray that you will teach my husband and I to work as a team during this time. Guide me in my words and actions today and every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  139. Celeste Emmick says:

Father some days are so hard. I feel myself pulling away from the people I love and my life. Please help me turn to you instead. I know that with your help and protection, I can face any situation. But, I can,t do it without you. Help me to turn over everything to you and to wait expectantly for your guidance. Thank you for forgiving me all my transgressions. And, in spite of them, I know I am loved.

  140. Lord, it feels like my world is crashing down around me – my own health issues, my overwhelming bills, the heartbreaking end of a 7 year relationship with my boyfriend telling me he doesn’t love me, my parents health declining, the fall out of a recent accident, and my son’s estrangement from his father are taking over my every waking thought. Please give me your peace, your clarity, and wisdom to believe that things will get better. They just have to. Thank you.

  141. Dear Lord,
You’ve said that if we delight ourselves in you, you’ll give us the desires of our heart. Well, my problem is I’ve lost touch with those desires. I’m trying not to lose touch with You. Help me want what you want…help me want you more … help me know what it is to truly delight in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  142. Melanie McKinley says:

Heavenly Father, I come to you today with a heavy heart and a never ending to do list. Today I feel like I will never get this thing called life right. Lord I bring my brokenness to you and ask for your reassurance that I am loved. I need to see evidence that you are a part of my healing and ministry. I ask for your guidance and direction as I move forward in faith. Thank you Lord for one more day to serve you. It is in your name I pray. Amen

  143. Lord, I think so often of friends and family who want and need prayer and I think so quickly that they need it more than I do. Forgive me for this pride or lack of knowledge. I am reminded today that I need to remember to be soaked in prayer and your Word just as much as the person next to me at the store, at church, and so on. Direct my paths and prayer; thank you that your Grace has prepared me for the good and the answers for today. Thank you that you are with me and no height or depth could separate me from You. Go before me this day, Lord. Amen

  144. Dear Lord, help me today and every day to remember that you love me as a tender Father and help me live my life out of an overflow of my love for you.

  145. Heavenly Father, thank you for your unending love. Please help me to be the woman, wife, and mother You would have me to be. Please show me that Your ways are not my ways. May I rest in Your peace today. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

  146. Thank you, Lord, for directing me to various Christian women’s blogs this week where I keep being reminded of the same important message: Lean not on my own understanding, but acknowledge YOU in all things and YOU will make my paths straight.

Help me to remember that you can not be confined to human descriptions and that your love is not flawed like the “love” we know here on earth.

Thank you that your love transcends anything I’ve experienced or can understand.

    In Jesus’ name,

  147. Guide me Lord.

  148. Abba Father,
I hate where I am, who I’m becoming and the anger that burns deep within. You say I need to forgive her for betraying our friendship but I’m finding it hard to let go…I want justice. You tell me that if I seek You, I’ll find You in this desert I’m in. Father, help me to forgive through Your strength. Help me to see what You see in her because right now…I’m so hurt and alone. Jesus Name Amen.

  149. Dear Lord, you know my pain and my broken pieces. I pray for your healing on my broken heart today. I ask for you to give me peace and comfort during this season of life. May you wrap your loving arms around me and help me through this struggle and may I find myself on the other side victorious. I ask for you to show me what you would have me to learn from this emotional journey. May you give me the strength each day to put one foot in front of the other and to tackle each day. May you help me to recognize the devil’s tricks as temptation and flee and resist those temptations. I need you, dear Lord. I humble myself at your feet and ask that you help me to be the wife, mother and daughter you created me to be. I am a mess and I lay my junk at your feet and ask that you take this burden from me. Cast all your cares upon me for I careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7.

  150. Father,
You know my heart, You know my will better than I do. Lord I ask that You help me to know Your heart and Your will as if it were my own. I know I haven’t done the best with this but Lord, I ask with Your help that You show me what it is that You want for my life. Help me discern Your will from my desires. I know You have plans, Lord, and I want to follow them. Help me see the way You have for me. Thank You Father for who You are!

  151. Dear Lord,

I need patience! Patience with what the future holds, patience with my husband and my kids! Lord, not being patient brings out the worst in me! Only you know what the future holds and I need to wait for your plans to unfold. I need to remember that my kids and husband are a blessing and not to get angry with them when they don’t do things how I would do it or they are having a bad day and in turn I have a bad day!Help me to be a light that shines for you! Help me to raise my kids to know you and let THEIR light shine!! Lord you are amazing and I thank you for all of the blessings I have in my life! In Jesus name, Amen!

  152. Lord, I come to you today with a glad heart for the blessings you’ve placed in my life. I thank you for them and only ask that I use them for your glory. Beyond the blessings, fill me with your love and compassion. I can get wrapped up in myself, and that’s not where you want or need me to be. Thank you for taking me outside myself to the world around me. Amen

  153. Vonnie Kronk says:

Dear Father, I pray for healing in my Brain. My desire is to serve you with all my heart and soul & mind

  154. Heavenly Father,
I thank You for your nudges. Thank you for not giving up on me despite my weakness and hard headiness. That in itself should be enough to respond to You but I continue in my foolish way. I pray for me to break that self destructive behavior and be free in You. My burdens are MANY. The weight slows me down and makes is almost unbearable. But through Your grace, I somehow make it to the next day with a speck of hope. May you make that speck grow daily, strengthened in You to do Your will. I want to stop this helpless dark feeling. Let me be open to Your change for me. In Your precious name, Amen.

  155. Heavenly Father, you see the Dr’s appointments and tests that are ahead of me. Please give me the courage to face whatever the future holds. Grant me your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding and may Your name be glorified as you carry out your will for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  156. Yvonne Mead says:

Dear Lord and Heavenly Father-Please be with me as I progress through life-as you only know what is next, please help be be prepared as you will is yours. Amen

  157. Father, I feel so unworthy and unlovable, please help me to see myself the way that you do.

  158. Pam Kenworthy says:

Lord, you know what I have been going through lately with Bob diagnosis of Prostate Cancer and then Dad passing away so suddenly. I felt you telling me today that I try to be strong for everyone else and don’t give myself any attention or even time to grieve. Help me to Lord to turn to you and prayer for myself so that I can be even stronger to help others but also able to let others help me. Thank you Lord for all that you have given me and will continue to give me.

  159. Ruthann Martin says:

Father God, help me to never walk where you are not leading!,

  160. My Big G God, I have to admit it is hard to pray for myself when I’m not in a crisis. Thankfully, right now I’m not in one and so I begin by thanking you for that! Lord, I want to follow you and love you all the days of my life, so I ask for your help in obedience to you, help me love you even more. Lord, give me YOUR wisdom and illuminate the path you want me on, then give me the courage and obedience to be on it, regardless of what others say. My #1 relationship, my eternity rests in You, not my kids, boyfriend, co-workers, etc., but you and you, alone, so let me not be so concerned with what they will think. Let me love you and feel your love in return. Continue to seek me as I seek you. I love you, Lord with all my heart….may that be true all the days of my life.
    ~Your Daughter, Diane

  161. Dear Lord,
It is not logical to pray for myself, and as a woman, I think many of us struggle with that, as we consistently pray for others.

Thank you that you will guide me in this. Amen

  162. Heavenly Father, I thank you for all of the blessings you have given me! Lord, you know what I have been going through with my 85 year old Mother’s dementia and now recovery from surgery for a broken Femur. I am trying to leave at your feet the burden of deciding what her future holds as far as the best nursing home to fit her needs. I know I talk to you and say I am leaving this at your feet, but then the next thing I know is that I have this heavy burden on my shoulders. I am praying to you for me to let it go and let YOU! Amen

  164. Lord you have told me to trust in you and I will be helped. I need your help today. As I prepare myself for this surgery that is before me, I pray you will help me to accept whatever outcome you deem necessary. My prayers reach out to you to calm my anxious heart and continue to feel the peace of the Holy Spirit that you have blessed me with this past year. Bring this peace and trust to my marriage Lord as we deal with the many changes before us. In your name I pray with love.

    In Jesus’ name I pray,

  166. Lord, this is unnatural asking help for myself today. So many others near and dear to me need your help. Please help those on my mind, first. 169. Dear Lord,

Why do I find it so hard to talk to and with you? You have said so many times that you WANT to listen to me. Please give me the wisdom to know that you are my best friend and want to help. Please help me to know that the abuse that happened to me as a child wasn’t my fault and shouldn’t be my shame. I don’t have to tell you how much I still struggle with that. I will continue to read your poignant words and pray that a time comes when your loving promises permeate the wall I put up so long ago….

In Jesus’ name I fervently pray, Amen

Please give me Your strength & peace to make it through one moment at a time, looking to You. Help me to some how be a witness to You through this.

  178. Funny timing. I’ve struggled with an important coworker since I started my job three years ago. I am tired of the unnecessary stress and have realized I can’t fix it. As I was walking into work yesterday undecided to get brave and bold and ask God for favor in this persons eyes. Near the end if the day this person stopped by my office to tell me I am doing a good job and handling a tough situation well. I have nerve heard any positive statement in three years. God is good! 184. Oh Lord, thank you so much for Renee and her friend Julie. As always, you know exactly where I am (front burner prayer) and unless I know I am messing up, I never think to pray for myself. Oh Lord, I am so excited about this book. I can think of about 10 women I want to give this to as a gift, for we all need ‘permission’ if it were, to pray for ourselves. Lord, Help me become the woman of God you created me to be. May the Holy Spirit let me know what to pray for . In Jesus name.

  185. Father, You are the Great Healer and I just ask that you would continue to heal me from the pain that

Praying for myself was extremely difficult, but in recent weeks, has become so essential that it is like brushing my teeth 3 times a day. “Dear Father, Please guard and guide my thoughts, my heart, and my tongue; keep me close to You and align my life with Yours; banish the devil from my life; help me to be loving and kind to all I come in contact with today; please bless me with a new heart-felt love and respect for my husband and restore our marriage in Your will and in Your timing. Thank you for the devotional reading that reminded me that you are always there to fill the holes in my heart created by people or circumstances! Thank you that I could wake up this morning feeling you so close and able to go through the day with joy in my heart!

  195. Father, I come to you all the time for so many sisters and brothers and family needs. I love to come before you with these requests, becasue i knwo what an awesome God you are and how you love us and hear and honor our prayers for others. I am always telling others of your promises, but I do not pray these as often for myself. You know me so well and knwo that i don’t, but through this devotional today, I am reminded that I must call your promises to mind with my name attached. I read your word and several scriptures pop out for me on a regular basis. I read them and understand them, but do not PRAY them,
Thank you Father, for your wonderful WORDS to pray that you desigend for each of us to personalize drawing us to you.

  196. Holy Father, remind me to pray against the deception the enemy uses to block my vision of your will for my life. Don’t let Satan keep me in the dark about my position and authority and protection which is my inheritance in Christ. I pray continually that Satan’s smoke screen of lies will be blown away and that my vision into the spiritual realm will be crystal clear.

  197. Lord, help me know your will for my life. Help me to fulfill you purpose for my life and keep my focus on You. I often feel like I am sinking in quick sand and I don’t even know what to pray for, but in those times remind me all I need is the power of Your name, Jesus. Thank you for your many blessings.

  198. Father God, I thank you that you have a perfect plan for my life and that it is way better than anything I could ever dream up. Please help me to trust you and your perfect plan COMPLETELY. Help me to know which way I should turn. Lord, I want to be so lost in you that you are the only thing people see when they see me. Thank you that you hear me and you know every worry and every doubt. Help me to know your truth.
I ask this in Jesus name.

  199. Heavenly Father, how these words ring true that I do not stop and sit in your presence enough to refresh, refill and restore my own soul in order to fulfill that which you would have me serve out for you. Help me to be more disciplined with my time in prayer, in your word, and practice listening more in your presence. All in Jesus precious name, Amen.

  200. Dear Lord – I pray that I am filled with your love so that I am a light for you. May my words and my actions reflect you Jesus in my life. I pray for your peace to fill me. In Jesus Name Amen

  201. Lord, thank you for answering my prayers and transforming my husband and our marriage. Please help me heal from the wounds I am carrying and to live for You and show love to my husband everyday. Bless me and show me favor for following your commands during the most difficult months of my life. Continue working in my husband to turn him into the Godly leader and husband you desire — and I desire him to be. Give me wisdom, strength and grace to deal with al of those who have attacked me and my marriage. Keep us away from temptation and give us the knowledge to combat the enemy every day. In your name, Amen.

  202. Thank you so much for posting…this is exactly what I needed to hear today. I’ve been having doubts for no reason ab my relationship for no reason and I’m definitely going to start praying for myself for God to give me peace of mind. I would love to read your book. I love devotionals.

  203. Dear Heavenly Father,
My prayer FATHER is that my healing will take place as it did for
the woman with the issue of blood, being like her LORD I stand on your promises
I have faith to believe that I will be free of this and that all glory and honor
go to you. Until that day and if it doesn’t happen, I am staying
faithful, and I will continue to serve you.
You are my strength, my strong tower, my healer and friend, I love
    you LORD, JESUS name amen.

    Thank you, many blessings,

  204. What an encouragement to my heart this was today as i very seldom pray for myself, i always feel selfish when i do. I would love to win a copy of your book.

Please Dear Lord, my heavenly Father i desperately need help to like/love me. If i were as mean to others as i am to myself Lord i wouldn’t have any friends at all. Please Father help me to get out of this self-destructive rut so i can be the person you want me to be. Give me an unquenchable desire for your word and time with you in prayer. I love you Lord and i am making this verse my personal prayer…Oh Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Thank you Father for loving me and not giving up on me. In Jesus precious name, amen.

  205. Dear Heavenly Father,

Teach me how to be a prayerful woman. I need Your truth and guidance to remember that I am your child. I am Your adored daughter. Please speak to me today.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.

  206. Thank you Jesus for walking this journey with me. I couldn’t have gone through the last few months without you.
Please help me overcome the warzone of negativity in my mind and learn to keep my eyes fixed firmly upon you.
Remind me constantly that my husbands issues have nothing to do with me, I am good enough! I am loved! Help me to truly believe that as I begin to heal. Thank you that you are ever present in my life, even when I don’t feel you there. I love you Jesus

  207. Hilda Quintanilla says:

Lord help me to rest trusting that you will heal dad of cancer. Help me to trust that you watch over him, and mom, and that they are okay when I can’t be with them. Help me to quiet my anxious thoughts. Help me believe in ROM 8:28 & JER 29:11 now more than ever. IJN

  208. Catherine Prezbindowski says:

I know so many women who have trouble praying for myself. I want to pray right now.

You are good. You are light. You are Holy, You are Love, You are our huband. When I’m not sure, You are sure, when I can’t remember, You’ve never forgotten. When I’m wondering, You know. Please forgive me for my sins right now. Cleanse me of them because I want You. I’m Yours and You are mine. Thank You for the break through in my life right now. THank You for what You are doing in all our lives. In Jesus name thank YOu for the grace to continue. I’m asking for intimacy with You for all the women in Jesus name.

Thank You for what You are going to do. In jesus name. I love You

  209. I can’t even read this post without weeping. My life has fallen apart in the last 6 years. Not sure if it will ever be put back together. Don’t know how to pray for myself except to ask forgiveness for everything because surely something is wrong. In saner times, I think God is polishing me–at least that is my hope. And I pray I come out stronger.

  210. Precious Lord, You always meet my needs and answer even my unspoken prayers
Thank you once again for hearing my silent cry of desperation … my cry to let go of
the hurts of the past so I can continue to serve others and raise the beautiful children
that you miraculously placed in my care… Thank you for loving me even when I feel
    alone and unlovable…

  211. Lord, You know that I desire to draw ever closer to you. Like the man in the Bible, I cry daily, “I believe. Help my unbelief!” You know how I struggle to live out my confirmation verse, “All things are possible for the one who believes” (Mark 9:23) You know all of my struggles and how difficult it is for me to grasp the idea that I need to just let go and allow You to do as You have promised you will. Forgive me, Holy Father, for my unbelief, for wanting to be in control even while understanding on a surface level that I am NOT in control. Lord, I need Your wisdom, I need to hear clearly what You would have me do, and I need the heavenly energy to carry through. Take away my reluctance, my doubts, and most of all my fears. O, how I desire to live a life that points others to You, to “live my life in glory to You Lord” (Faithful to Me by Kathy Troccoli). I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you for encouraging us to pray for ourselves. I have so many folks for whom I pray daily that I do forget to pray for me OR I end up feeling guilty because I do (that little voice inside tells me I’m being selfish).

  212. Dear Sweet Jesus, I need Your guidance each and every moment. Show me where to go with this idea of praying for myself without becoming self-centered or out of Your will. Thank You for the encouragement You bring through your precious servant Reneé and others at Proverbs 31. Continue to bless them as they bless others.

  213. Lord, thank you for all the Christian women you have placed in my life. They help me see the person that you created me to be and not to believe the lies that satan plants in my head. Please help me to be more open with my emotions. I struggle with this in all aspects of my life being I never really learned how to express them. I love my daughter Kayla who is struggling with a drug problem and need you to help me be the mom you created me to be. I know I was not a good mom when she was younger and I want to do all I can now to restore a relationship with her before it is to late. Thank you for the strength and wisdom you give to me to push on everyday. I love you Lord. Amen

  214. Poppa, You know the difficulties right now. Help me to rest in your lap and wait patiently for you to save.- Amen.

  215. Oh, Heavenly Father, only you know all the burdens of my heart. I don’t have to list them for you. I thank you for sending this devotion my way and for reminding me that first and foremost I need to come to you for my own spiritual healing. You have never left me nor forsaken me. You are always with me, waiting for me to talk to you about my needs. Today I ask that you restore the JOY of my salvation. Help me to stop letting the fast pace of my world interfere with taking the time to see you in every moment of my day. Remove that tendancy to be short, negative or critical when I begin to feel stressed or overwhelmed. Give me a loving spirit toward others. I want to be a living witness of that JOY, not for my own glory but that others will truly see you in me. Today is a new beginning. Guide me in every step I take and every word I utter. I come to you in the name of your presious son, Jesus Christ. Amen

  216. wow this is so true what we do as mothers
and wife just as women we need to remember
are self God wants to help us to. am going to do that for myself

  217. Lord, help me pray for myself every day!

  218. Lord, this is not easy but I pray for strength, guidance and wisdom to help me be the woman you created me to be as a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and leader. Father, I am so thankful where you have brought me so far. I pray you continue to help me step out on faith. In Jesus Name…

  219. Dear Lord,
You know everything about me. I tend to forget that. I know you know what is best for me. Remind me to trust you in everything in life. Remind me that when I feel alone that you are right there. Help me in everything I do from being a mom, a daughter, an aunt, a sister-in-law, a friend, a co-worker and a member of society. Have your way in my life, Lord. I love you and I am sorry for the times that I have let you down and disappointed you, please forgive me. Amen.

  220. Nancy Jordan says:

Dear Lord, I have been so very blessed by you and yet I still feel envy. Like Paul, I know what I need to do and yet so often find myself not doing it and feeling disgusted with myself for not reaching out more to those in need. I find myself telling lies to avoid doing those things that I would feel out of my comfort zone doing, and I know that to deny help and support to those less fortunate than me is the same as turning a blind eye to the very mission you began here on earth to “love your neighbor as you love yourself”. Then I berate myself for not helping at the local shelter, not volunteering at the soup kitchen, not taking my turn to serve you when approached. Forgive me for this, dear Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen

  221. I need you Lord!

  222. Lord, I am the caregiver for others, but truly need prayer for myself today; knowin who I am in You, to be alble to look over all the shortcomings in my life & feel pleasing to You when I don’t measure up!

  223. Lord I need you now! I have fallen away and need to come back to you. Your are the almighty one who needs to be the number one thing in my life next to my awesome husband and my wonderful kids. Give me the words of wisdom, and the strength to be a godly mother to my kids and a godly wife to my husband. After all Faith without works is dead. Thats how I feel right now. I need to follow you and be an obeying servant to You alone! In your name Amen!

  224. Sarah Davis says:

Lord please give me strength that I can only get from You. I pray that I will be the Godly wife, mother and woman that you created me to be. Thank you for all You have blessed me with and for You love and mercy. In Jesus name amen

  225. Lord God, you know my needs, long before I even do. I pray you will help my husband and myself with our marriage, our kids, our health, our finances and most of all with our relationship with you. We need you Lord and we need to keep our eyes focused on your – please lead us the way you want us. I have for so long not taken care of myself, physically, emotionally or spirtually. I am trying to get on track – please show me the way. Amen…

  226. Dear Heavenly Father, Help me to keep my focus on you while juggling the kids, house and hospital visits. Please give me your wisdom to know how to be a comfort and blessing during the visits. Please help me not to take the negative personally. Thank you for those you have surrounded my family with who are so willing to help. Please help the medicine keep my shingles under control with no blisters. I ask this in the name on Jesus. Amen.

  227. Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you guide me through this season of healing. I pray for your will to be done, not mine. I praise you and give all to the glory to you, Father. In Jesus name. Amen.

  228. Oh Heavenly Father. Thank you for all the blessings in my life. My career, family, brothers/sisters in Christ, and ministry. I pray that you will continue to be with me to do all these according to Your will. Life can be such a struggle sometimes, but with you by myself anything is possible. You are my confidence and comfort. I give you all my glory. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

  229. Lord, one of the hardest things for us to do is pray for ourselves. But, then sometimes it is just hard to pray. Please help me in my prayer life. This is an area I know You are working with me on, I pray for grace when it comes to my prayers. Lord please help me to grow in this area, not only praying for wisdom, understanding and guidance, but praying for so many others that need prayers.

  230. Dear precious Lord, I need the not every hour but every 2 minutes–help me have hope too for the future you have promised. Please give me wisdom to make these decisions and grace to live with YOUR answers. Help me trust You & not be frightened. I need You so very close to me

  231. Lord, thank You that I can always turn to You as my comfort. Right now I’m in a season of waiting, Lord, and I need Your help to keep my eyes fixed on You. You are my Hope, and I place my trust in You knowing You have a plan for my life that is better than one I can imagine. Thank You for allowing me to see Your hand working in me as You draw me closer to You.

  232. Oh Lord, you know what I need. Father I thank you so much for listening my prayers and answering them. You know how much I have been struggling with my negative attitude and you move me to cry out to you for help because you know that I needed you and your help, you are the one who is drawing me towards you, and you are putting this person with her new devotional for me to pray with and come to you every day. Lord, I can only thank you.

  233. Dear Lord Jesus,
I’ve been praying to you my entire life and now I need you more than ever. Please help me now as I attempt to care for my precious mama (without the support of family or a loving husband) as she is going through many trials with her health and the aging process. Strengthen me in all ways and give me wisdom to do my best for her each day. I know that you are with me, Lord, and that I can do all things through your supernatural power! Finally, I know it is your grace that sustains me now and forever…. although I still seek your face in that one day You will bless me with a wonderful husband and soulmate. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

  234. Dear God, Thank you for all the blessings you have given me. I need you every hour. Help me to feel your loving presence. Help me to love you with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Help me to get my health issues under control. I am so lonely here on this earth. Lord, please bless me with a loving, Christian husband. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  235. God help me to show unconditional love and ulitimate compassion to everyone. To see things through your eyes, and not be stuck in my own perspective.

  236. Lord, thank you that you know my heart when I don’t even know what to pray or how to pray. Thank you that what you have begun in me you will complete. I love you my precious Lord!

  237. Lord, Thank you for Julie and Renee’s ministries and Preoverbs 31 Ministries and the blessing they have been to me. I am one of those women who prays for everyone else, but forgets to pray for my own needs and it shows. I feel empty and alone much of the time and illequipped to meet the needs of my husband and family. Thank you for this reminder. I love you.

  238. Father God, you always surprise me (I think because you know I like surprises). Here I was this morning deciding to start fresh a new prayer journal, asking others what I could pray about for them. Thinking of all my children’s needs, extended family and friends. Thinking of even the washer that is leaking and the wood supply to get us through this next cold snap. You reminded me, working a great work through this ministry Father, that I need to include a need or two of my own and not out of selfishness, but so that I will be better equipped for you to work in and through me. I love you Father – there truly is no one like you. Thank you for loving us enough to send your precious son to pay for our wrongs. It is in His name Father I am able to come to you. Amen.

  239. Crystal Bethel says:

Dear God, thank you for this glorious day. Today I ask for your grace. I know I haven’t been the mom and wife I am meant to be, but I know that through you, I can be. I want nothing more than to put you first at the beginning of each day and walk with you throughout my days, weeks, months, and years. Please Father, just show me your grace. In your name I pray, Amen.

  240. Lord, it is so timely that this word came the morning that I was feeling guilty for my prayers being so me-centered this morning. I thank you for any opportunity to come to you in prayer. Help me to not forget that You are the Lover of My Soul.

  241. Dear God, thank you for all You have given me, and all that you have taken away… please help me open my eyes and my heart to let go of this hurt, this guilt and move forward clothed only in your grace and mercy. Amen.

  242. Jackie Bailey says:

    Dear Lord,
Cleanse my heart so my lips and my soul can sing Your praises, You are worthy of adoration through not only my prayers but through my thoughts, my words and my actions. Help me walk with Your spirit guiding me so others can see Your glory, not my fragile state. Guide my prayer first of all, and hide me while You nourish and refresh me, for Your purposes alone.
In the strong but gentle name of Jesus, I cry for help.

  243. My Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this reminder that besides the many important and worthy things I pray for daily, I need to remember to add myself. I often feel inadequate and overwhelmed and seem to believe that if I pray for the situation or the person needing help, You will take care of it. That is exactly true but in the process, I forget that I too need Your help. You know I have several things on my heart. The possibility of my ex-husband and I getting back together. The financial challenge of going on my first mission trip (my first trip outside of the US) a medical mission trip to Vea, Ghana, Africa. Paying off debt this year. Advancing my career with new certifications. My health and procedure coming up this Friday. And remembering every single day that You are for me. I thank You again for this simple reminder and I love You!

  244. Dawn Tillett says:

Dear God: You know I am struggling with self worth and my lack of it and I ask that you help me remove those thoughts from heart and mind. I appreciate all you given me and do for me and my feelings are not from a lack of appreciation of You in anyway. I want to feel Your Grace and Love and I want to be able to give that same love and grace to others in my life. I want to be happy again and I am searching for YOu. Please guide me as to where I need to be for You – to do Your work. I am so lost right now.

  245. Katheryn Donaldson says:

Lover of my soul, I pray you always hear me. I pray for a fresh vision, for a clearer understanding of your Word. I pray for revival in my children. I pray my heart always desires to seek you, even when it’s hurt and feels there is no hope. I pray you help me be less sarcastic. Actually, please remove it from my way of being! Thank you Lord for being my everything. I love you so much and am in awe at how much You love me! In Jesus sweet precious Name, Amen!

  246. Helena Fulmer says:

Father God……Sometimes I feel so unwirthy of your love and mercy. Lord I pray that you will take these thoughts away from me for I know they are from Satan. Let your Holy Spirit fill me today and guide and direct my path……helping me to focus only on you and not what the enemy is whispering in my ear. Thank you Lord….I love you and praise you!! Amen

  247. James 5:16
Our fervent prayers -only because of Christ is us -who Us our righteousness avail much!

    • Kerri Kanning says:

I clearly admit that I am insufficient without you. You are my Vine, I am your branch-abide in me and I will in you so that I can accomplish what you want me to -today-this is about process and trusting you moment by moment Not perfection .Amen
      John 15
      Your litl’ Kerri

  248. Lord, Thank you that your love is not conditional. Thank you that you have a plan for me and even when I don’t understand it or see it, you give a peace that is only found when I press into you. Thank you for your forgiveness. Give me eyes to see the path you have for me and ears to hear the needs of those around me. Keep me from being lazy and selfish and equip me with love that can only surface because of You. Create in me a clean heart, O God, renew a right spirit in me. Cast me not away from your presence and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore onto me the JOY of your salvation and renew a right spirit in me. Amen.

  249. Amy Mcclerren says:

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your unconditional love, perfect peace, and ohnyes your grace and mercy. Today I ask for this finacial burden to move out of my life, I accept your wisdom for starting my own business, I accept your strength. Help me oh Lord to continue to walk in love..In Jesus Name, Amen..

  250. Stacy Dixon says:

I pray to have the strength to change negative habits using the tools and support from my online bible study. I keep slipping, and beating myself up, I pray to accept the forgiveness that I know God offers. 🙂

  251. Dear Lord,

I pray I can become the holy woman and wife You want me to be. I pray for healing in my body so I can be fully functioning again. I pray for my marriage and children. We need You as the center of our life. Things cannot go on as they have. Amen

  252. Last night, I was at the point where all I could muster up to say was “God, I’m tired!”. Being a single mom (without any help), working full time, raising two beautiful girls, trying to be involved in ministry, and keeping friendships alive is exhausting. They are all things I want in my life (well, except for working a secular job full-time – my heart is full-time ministry, but for now I know I have to work or my bills won’t get paid). I want to pray … and try to ….. but don’t really know how. I know this isn’t how he wants me to live ….. Exhausted ….. so possibly this book could help me learn how to pray for myself!

  253. Lord,
I pray that you will help me continue in the path you have drawn me on: the path of forgiveness and the path of healing, the path of growing spiritually. I pray that you open my eyes to your will for my life. I pray that I can be the wife, mother, sister, and daughter that you made me to be and that when I fail you open my eyes to that and lead me to your healing. I praise you, Lord for the many blessings you have brought into my life.

In your holy name I pray

  254. Lord,
As I seek your face, reveal yourself to me. I long to know you in a deeper way than I’ve ever know. Thank you for loving me as I am, but loving more to have me be more like you. I want you to look down on me and say “You make me proud”.

  255. Elizabeth C says:

    Dear Lord God above,
Thank you for all that you have given me. Help me seek you more and learn how to stop and listen for your answers without my input. Thank you for authors such as Renee and Julie and everyone at Proverbs31 Ministries that give such encouraging words and wisdom. Thank you for all you have done for me and my family. Amen

  256. Dianne McIntire says:

Lord, I pray that I will draw my strength from You and not try to do things in my own strength, that I will trust You and put You first in my life! In Jesus name, Amen!

  257. Remind me Lord, to talk with You. It’s easy to remember to pray for my needs and the needs of others–and to call out for help–but I want to praise You and thank You and just talk with You.

  258. Ima Dale Foster says:

Lord, I thank you for your love and mercy. I thank you for what you are doing in my life and my husband’s life. I thank you for answered prayer. I ask you to please continue the healing process and the growing closer to you process for both of us. I ask for wisdom and confidence to continue on life’s journey. I thank you for our children, their mates, and our precious grandchildren. I pray that they will all know you as their Savior and become godly men and women. Thank you for all your blessings. I love you, Lord. Please help me to be the woman you would have me to be and to be a blessing to those I meet.

  259. BEVERLY THAMES says:

    Sweet Jesus,
Please help me to stay focused on you and not all the things on my “to do” list today.

  260. Penny Moncrief says:

Lord, in my weakness You are made strong. I cry out for peace that passes all understanding, wisdom to walk to the left or to the right, hearing Your voice to guide me. Give me confidence to hold my head up, my arms up in praise and my words to be pleasing to You God my Lord and Savior.

  261. Lord, like blind Bartimaeus who was sitting by the road when you passed by, I too cry, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Master, I want to see!” I want to go down the road with You, Jesus. Thank You for never passing me by, but always listening to the cry of my heart: Lord have mercy on me.

  262. Yes, Lord I need your perspective and wisdom, sometimes I become weary from all the concerns of others and neglect myself. Fill me Lord, Amen

Lord right now I ask that you bring full healing to my heart, healing from all the hurts in my past and healing from all the negative things said over me. I pray that you strengthen my heart with your love and let me see who I am to You. I pray for the freedom to walk in boldness as the woman you created me to be. Free and whole, complete in your healing!

  269. Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank you for the many blessings that you gift me with. I thank you for the Proverbs 31 Ministries and for bringing it into my life. Lord, I thank you for Renee and Julie. I am so very thankful they followed your will and for the works they are allowing you to do thru them. Please let them feel your arms wrap around them in a tight hug today and let their heart overflow with your love. And Lord, I thank you for the reminder today, that while praying for others, I need to pray for myself also. And that it’s ok to pray for myself without feeling greedy. Thank you Lord for all that you do for me. In Your Holy Name I Pray, Amen!

Help me to rest in You. Help me to take a breath and give it all to You. In Jesus name Amen.

  275. Beth Smith says:

Please pray for me as I am struggling greatly! My husband & I have taken back into our home my 21 year old daughter & her 9 month old daughter. We already have at home a 16 year old daughter & a 12 year old son living with us. This has put a HUGE strain on our entire family. My daughter (21 year old–Krystal) was being abused in all ways by her boyfriend. But having them in our home has completely put our home in an uproar!! There seems to be no space, no quiet time for me anymore, a lot more work in the house (I have heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure & many other complications). I am feeling like I am at my end!! Please pray!!

  276. Lord, help me to keep my eyes fixed on you and not the circumstances around me. For when I am weak, you are strong, and Lord I need your strength. Illuminate the path before me and make my path straight. I want to walk on the path you have for me and not my way. Help me to always acknowledge you when life seems overwhelming and burdensome. I love you Lord and want you to be my everything. Amen

  277. Annka Poirier Turgeon says:

  278. Kim Shumake says:

Father, this book sounds like it was written for me at this time in my life. I feel like taffey at a taffey pull. So many huge life changing issues and my breast cancer on top of life. I want my life to honor and glorify You, it seems I fail more than I succeed. I neeed You, and would treasure this book to help. Thank you Father that you hear all our prayers. Amen

  279. Debra Wolford says:

Self, Please remember that you’re not in this life alone. Every thought, every need, every heart break is already known. Know that situations and problems are not up to my own understanding but all things work together for my good. Self, remember that in times of trouble and doubt about my abilities prayer is the only true solution. The LORD knows before I even ask what my needs are and how things are going to turn out. I need only to obey his word and leave everything up to him. It’s sometimes giving up the control and leaving everything up to him that is the hardest. I practice that everyday. I have to remember, He’s got this!

  280. Dear Father, forgive me for not sitting at your feet today. I realize I have become distracted again. Another move is looming and this time I am preparing for surgery first. Please help me, Father, to keep my eyes on you as I move forward one step at a time, in faith and in preparation. Thank you, Father, for the blessings of friendship and family. Help me not to take any of my blessings for granted as I get absorbed in all that is going on. Remind me, Father, to ask for help when I need it. Give me wisdom as I deal with my son each day. Help me to be the wife and mother and friend that you would have me be. Help me to prioritize as you would have me to do… Thank you, Lord, that you have already gone before me. I know that you will see me through the difficulties ahead.

  281. Kristina d. says:

    Dear Lord,
Please guide and direct us in the decisions we need to make this week about our daughter’s and my care. Please heal our family. Please help us to be more honoring to you. I love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  282. Lord, thank you for this ministry. I come to you asking for a clear mind and direction for priorities with my family. I feel like when I’m faithful and making progress in one area, I’m failing in another. I can’t get it all straight. Help me get my priorities aligned with you. Make me the wife and mom you intended me to be and rid me of the negative emotions I carry. Fill me with your love so it pours out to others especially my family. In Jesus name, Amen.

  283. Lord, I thank you for the daily reminders to come before you in prayer, and especially for being there as I talk to you about my innermost thoughts! I thank you that regardless of what I divulge to you, you will never leave me nor forsake me, you will forgive my transgressions, and remind me that you love me and I can trust you. Father, I seek your help with my negative thought life right now – I so want to just focus on and believe your truth, yet I keep finding myself spending time believing the lies of the enemy. I think step one is just what Julie is getting at – I need to not only be on my knees for others, but need to remember to come to you for myself as well. I thank you Father for your gentle reminder, and your open arms! I lift my prayers to you in the sweet name of my Savior Jesus! AMEN!

  284. I Love that the book provides a focus for prayer for each week. My life can be so overwhelming with an autistic 5 year old, full time job, a neglected husband, a neglected prayer life, stressed., lonely – that I often fall to my knees but struggle to focus on what to pray on or for. I guess I am a “front burner” prayer but I want more. I should not be online right now, I am supposed to be working but I believe it is a blessing that I found Renee’s page and the introduction to Julie’s book. Thank you!

  285. Thank you dear Jesus for your word and that its true and that we can come to you any time. Lord help me to remember daily to do that and remember that I can’t do this without you or on my own strength. Lord give me the strength and the courage to do the things that I need to do daily. Lord I need you so much and espically right now when hubby is working overtime and the load as a wife and mother seem even more overwhelming. Help me to go to you instead of others and to know that you are there when no one else seems to be and that you will help me even when no one else is. Lord help me to hear from you when I don’t know what to do and give me the words to know what to say when I don’t and help me to be patient and forgiving and teach me how espically when I feel I can’t Thank you Lord i could not imgine life without you and thank you for never leaving me even when I may h ave forgotten or left you alone

  286. Lord, Empty me of me and fill me with You. Thank you for all the blessings in my life.

  287. Lord, I pray that you would help me to stop complaining and focusing on the negative, but focus on You and on the promises in Your Word. I pray that I would be encouraging to my husband and lift him up and show him love. I pray that I would be a good example for my son, and that I would be the best mother I can, lifting my son up and not tearing him down. Help me to keep my eyes on You and grow closer to You. Amen.

  288. Heavenly Father, I am burdened by my daughter’s infidelity and her young children having to sacrifice their normal life to be without their mama as they knew it. I am grieving for the loss of her happiness. I am afraid for her future having to make it on her own. I have been unable to see things her way even the slightest little bit. I am unhappy with her mistakes she is making but I need your help to avoid attempting to control the situation. Kind Jesus, I pray that I can overcome my need to control. I ask Your forgiveness for the hurt that she and I have caused each other. There have been harsh words, wrong assumptions and accusations. I pray that You will help me with a better way to communicate during this troubling time. Give me the right words to say and take away the need for constant criticism. Fill me with the peace that only comes from You, the peace that passes all understanding. Amen.

  289. Heavenly Father, I just want to praise you for the work you have been doing in my heart. You’ve known the heart-break I’ve suffered in my marriage and you’ve endured my temper tantrums because you wouldn’t change my husband. But this month, while my husband has been away, my heart has been opened by your gentle nudging. It seems every devotional arriving in my inbox has been about how I must change me in order to have a blessed marriage. Thank you Lord for showing me in your word that my job is to RESPECT my husband; I had no idea!! Thank you for the book that shows me HOW to do this! Thank you for opening my eyes to realise all the nastly little things I did that only hurt my marriage, and I had no idea I did them. Thank you for a long-suffering husband who never complained, and actually did a lot of things right. Father, my prayer for me today is please help me to stay on this path. I am desperate to believe that my husband truly does love me, and isn’t just jumping through hoops to placate me. Help me to let go of the ‘record of wrongs’ I guard so closely. Please Lord, as I begin to incorporate the tips from the book into my marriage, help me to not expect any great changes in my husband in return. Help me just to love him, just because You love him. I have 30 hours to prepare my heart before he’s home and I so desperately want to do this right. I pray your Holy Spirit would continue to fill me with your Word and guide me in this journey, and keep me safe from falling into the pit of despair again. Amen.

  290. Betty Petrie says:

Lord, we often turn to you when we reached the end of ourselves and don’t know what to do. Help me to reach out to you first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. I never thought of praying for myself, except for you to keep me in the center of your will. Help me to be the help mate that my husband needs. I never been very outgoing, but I don’t want others to think I think I’m better than they are. If they could only see what you see in me. I find it hard to reach out to others. Your word says for a person to have friends you must show your self friendly. Help me to start being friendly. You guide me and help me to follow. Amen.

  291. I need to feel comfortable praying for myself…..that’s the first prayer….
then the battle in my head that puts me in discouragement even when
I’m trying to be a more faithful prayer and study God’s Word.

  292. Christina Register says:

Lord, I thank you for bringing me to this blog post today. I truly do believe that every single thing we do is for a reason, and this was directed right to me. I felt like You were speaking directly to me. Thank you for the reminder that I need to pray for myself as well as everyone else, and I need to do it daily. I ask You to help me remember to take time to pray for myself, and to keep You first in every single thing I say and do. In Jesus name, Amen.
