Highlights, Winners & Another GoBible Give-away!

I don’t know about your house, but it’s pre-summer craziness around here! It’s a challenge being a mom in May isn’t it? With year-end school activities, weddings, graduations, proms, exams, a toddler who wants to be outside playing with the hose all day and oh yea, I have a job and a book release coming. Whew, I’m glad it’s a long weekend!

Although you’re probably all off somewhere having fun, I decided to stop in just to say hello, share some of the highlights of my crazy week, announce last week’s winnersand tell you about a fun give-away too!

Thursday I had sweet downtime and playtime in our backyard with Aster. Here are two of my favorite memories. (If you’d like to hear the sound of her contagious giggles, I posted a 30s video from our playtime on my FB page.)

I also got to spend several hours this week with some of my P31 staff/friends working on our Encouragement for Today devotions. I’m currently serving as our Sr. Editor. and I meet with my editorial review team every other month. This week we reviewed a batch of 23 submissions. First I spread them out in sets of two across the floor. Then I split them up and give them out to those that are paired together. This time it was Lysa with Leah, and Sam with Holly, and then me reviewing several on my own.We also have 4 other women, Glynnis, Lisa, Tracie and Wendy, who do verse verification, blog loading, writer coaching and HTML converting. Plus all the authors who write them and then connect with readers on their blog during the days their devos run. It’s amazing what a big team it takes to prepare these to send to almost a half-million people each weekday. But what an honor, and we love doing it.

On Tuesday, I finished the writing/editing/layout of my “7-day Doubt Diet” ( click here to find out more.) . It’s now in review at my wonderful publishing house, Revell. Once approved, it will go to design and then to their e-book department.

These devotions include some of my favorite parts of A Confident Heart, and I cannot wait to share them with you! So, have you signed up yet? Last night when I looked, almost 1000 people had!! I would love to know if you are one of them.

Also, I really hope you’ll invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker or someone in your family to join you. There’s nothing like having each others prayers and encouragement when it comes to losing the weight of self-doubt! To make it easy, here’s a little invite you can send them or post on your FB page:

  12. While I may not be off on some great Memorial weekend trip, I am having fun hanging out with my family. Sometimes that is a bigger blessing, especially with preteens who tend to not want to hang out with mom and dad as much. I signed up for the devotions when you first made them available on Facebook. I am looking forward to reading what God is sharing through you.

  13. Renee, I am really excited to receive the devotions and I have invited my daughter to join me on this journey! I have lost all the physical weight I need to lose (170 pounds shed) but now I am drowning in the weight of self-doubt. Looking forward to seeing how God will use these devotions and upcoming book to give me "A Confident Heart"
    Blessings to you.

  17. Jennifer Renee says:

I just signed up for the 7 day doubt diet. I look forward to reading your devotions and your book. I look forward to gaining more confidence and belief in myself. I once doubted my abilities as far as the type of job I could do. I thought I could only answer phones for someone and that's what I started doing for a company ten years ago. My boss saw more in me and I soon found I could do more even though I'm blind. Doubt does still come concerning other things in my life. When that doubt comes fear isn't far behind.

On another note I've read about the GoBible and Jennifer Rothschild has talked about it. I keep thinking about getting it.

  28. Am looking forward to reading! Confidence is certainly something we, as women, struggle with deep inside. Thank you for encouraging us!

  29. I am so bummed that my week was so busy that I'm just getting to this today. Our power was out for almost 5 days due to the storms that ripped through Michigan last Sunday. I would love to be a part of your focus review group. How exciting that so many are signed up.

  30. I would like to invite several ladies my approximatlely my age, I'm 50…some older, some younger. And about 4 or 5 college freshman and high school ladies who would truly benefit from this. Self doubt is such an issue at any age, regardless of your circumstance. Thank you for this opportunity. I have young ladies at my home every day as I have a pool and I would just love to have a free copy of this book to lead them in devotion and Bible Study. They so enjoy it…we have been doing that as a group for over a year now…please consider my request prayerfully…Thank you so much! Till we meet in Glory!

  31. Can't wait to get your book. I have battled with no self confidence my whole life. God showed me I don't need 'self'confidence, I need 'God' confidence!

  32. im so excited for this! im a military wife. we are overseas and far away from family. i think this will be a great help in handling doubt that arises with difficult situations.
    Lisa J.

  38. Mary Van Meter says:

A friend sent me a devotional from you about insecurities. She thought I would like it since we had just talked days earlier about what God had been showing me about my insecurities. He has done so in such a gentle way like taking the dressing off a horrible scab. Slowly, deliberately, tenderly and giving me a breather every now and then. God has showed me how my insecurites have affected my life. The decisions I have made or not made, the relationships I have choosen or not gotten rid of, the adventures I have lost out on, the crap I put up with (beyond what others would have), so many decisions based on my insecurities. I love God so much for having arranged me finding this book at this time. It is with an eagerly awaiting heart that I delve into this subject with you. Thanks. Praise be to God.
